Is Heinz Sugar Free Ketchup considered a "Frankenfood"?

I'm just starting out and I want to do this right. I know it's one carb/tbsp. but am I going to have trouble using it? Also, what other foods are considered "Frankenfoods"?

With extremely rare exception, commercial low-carb products are not part of my own daily menu. This ketchup is one of the exceptions, and I truly love it with my bunless cheddar avocado burgers and measure out 3 tablespoons. (By the way, while I never go near salt, I spice up my hamburgers with ground cumin as well as curry.) Heinz One Carb Ketchup has never given me any problems at all.

However, I would personally skip this product for Induction. Ultimately, this is a judgment call, and your mileage may vary.

P.S: Don't rule out the unsweetened ketchups found in premium supermarkets and health food stores. Some of them are actually pretty good!

For anyone in Canada, Heinz LC isn't sold here, but Presidents choice makes an excellent sugar free ketchup. My husband eats it as well and doesn't have a clue!

I am in Canada and ordered the Heinz ketchup from the Low Carb Grocery Canada website. I don't use it too often but have to have a bit of ketchup when I make meatloaf.

We dont seem to have a 'sugarfree' ketchup available over here in UK so I usually make use of tomato paste (which is just concentrated tomatoes and salt)plus spices in recipes to get that ketchup tang.

Thanks so much SugarFreeSheila! It tastes too sweet to me, so I'm afraid I could go crazy with it. Better for me to leave it off the menu.

That sounds like a good recipe, but I'll have to wait until after Induction to try it.

I do use the Heinz One Carb ketchup, but I don't use it often. I didn't find it until well into this WOE and a bottle does me for many months. I really like it to use for a low carb option to make seafood cocktail sauce. I just mix up some of the ketchup with a really hot prepared horseradish, and it hits the spot.

I've seen the Presidents Choice label, but not any of their sugar free ketchup. You guys in Canada have some really cool products there, like the Cappuccino flavored Trident.
