| That happened to me a few months ago...it lasted a few days before I started to eat without "choking" my food down. Do you eat a lot of the same recipes or prepare your food similarly each day? One way I've been keeping myself from "shutting down" on foods is to make sure I prepare them differently and try out new veggies. |

| OdepiTy, have you tried Linda's website? (http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html) There are so many options there... I would think that some variety will help a lot. Have you been eating plenty of veggies, too (and not just salad)? That should add a lot of variety... Not sure if you're still in induction, but if so, and it's been 2 weeks, I'd strongly suggest moving to OWL... lots more choice, which will make you much less likely to get tired of your food... Best of luck! |

| The first time I did Atkins, I had no problems on it - but about a year afterwards, I couldn't bring myself to eat an egg to save my life. I just couldn't get into the swing of it. This time around, I'm taking the idea of using variety. I tried the Cheeseburger Quiche and now I'm good with eggs again. Try doing the spaghetti squash/alfredo recipe, etc. Things that take you away from the standard egg/bacon breakfast, lettuce-only salad lunch, hamburger/steak dinner.

| I have days where I don't feel like eating meat and those days I live off veggies almost completely. It's not like you HAVE to eat meat and cheese, a nice salad will do as well |

| I agree that variety may be the key. I am curious about Sera's comment. How can it be okay not having meat? Isn't that the main form of protein? I can understand not having cheese because dairy is kind of an optional... but meat seems to be one of the staples of the diet. Just curious. |

| well i dont say i never eat meat, its just days that i dont feel like it. i do eat yogurt and cheese though and eat low carb bread since im on the nuts rung and put salami or so on, so I do get my proteins one way or another. my percentages look good enough anyway if you arent far enough on owl yet, there is still fish you can eat for protein, so there definitely are quite some possibilities. |

| Variety is the Spice of Life. What phase are you on? If you have not started moving up the carb ladder do so ASAP! That is when you REALLY find out how GREAT this WOE is!! I have never gotten bored with my diet. I have FINALLY learned to reach out and try new foods. Jicama.....had no clue what it even was until I started this WOE. I LOVE IT! There are vegies I eat now I never would have dreamed I liked. Check out the recipe section and Linda's website is the best!!! And yes vegatarians can do this WOE successfully, we have had several on this site.
