| Greetings, In my opinion if you are nibbling and have evening munchies, to me it doesn't make sense to have something that won't give you any texture, i.e., chewing etc. Perhaps you would be better off having an organized snack near you when you are cooking so instead of munching on dinner you will have food at hand to eat. This is just me but it doesn't make sense to incorporate a liquid dinner in place of actual food to combat munchies, i think you would be setting yourself up for failure doing this instead of actually having something to munch/chew on.

| Yeah, tried that. Nibbling begets nibbling for me, and I have found that the allowing a little tends to open the floodgates. Ironically I always did better on more restrictive diets (<1000 calories a day) than on more reasonable ones (<1500) for the same psychological reasons. My brain tends, despite my efforts, to categorize things in terms of black and white. If it's always on "restrict", I am successful. If it goes to "moderate" then I lose focus. Just the way I am wired, for better or worse. Not discounting your advice. It is good advice. I have just already tried that path unsuccessfully and so am trying out a different route. |

| Titian, I've actually just recently tried those shakes as the nutritionist recommended them for my husband. Though I know you said you aren't doing them for to satisfy a sweet tooth, they actually are very good -- better than Slimfast low carb or Atkins. She said they are the healthiest out there -- with the least amount of crap in them. But, if I recall, they are quite low in calories.... around 120 maybe? So I wouldn't think they'd provide enough calories for dinner -- unless you also do a substantial late afternoon snack? |

| Hey Adena! My snack tends to be up there, as do my meals. Usually a 1oz cheese bar and 1 serving of pork rinds (so roughly 200 calories, 1 carb). I eat a large breakfast and usually a large lunch. I am hoping to retrain myself towards the "Breakfast like a king, lunch like a yeoman, dinner like a pauper" philosophy. |

| I have used them in the past. I buy the protien and make them with unsweetened almond breeze and a dash of heavy whipping cream for taste. I have not experienced stalls with them nor cravings and if you wait 30 minutes or so after drinking they really are very satisfying and tend to stick with you as well. |

| I can't live without my protein shakes..i find them an awesome sweet 'shake' snack when i need one, and they definately cut back on my mindless nibbling and snacking. I don't use the EAS ones, i actually just buy the Great Value from walmart (120 cals, 1g carbs, 26g's protein i think). Sometimes i'll have one at lunchtime if i'm not quite hungry enough for a full lunch, but haven't eaten for a while since b'fast..they kind of tie me over for a couple of hours. Like spirit talker i mix mine with Almond Breeze and a little whipping cream, i always buy vanilla flavour so i can flavour them myself. Sometimes i add Fry's cocoa powder, berries, banana extract, tbsn peanut butter etc. I also occaisionally add a scoop to my steel cut oats to add protein (note that most of these are OWL run specific and not for induction!). I've never had an issue with them as far as stalls etc. Way back when, when i was in a stall, i tried cutting them out for a while but it turns out they weren't causing me problems. I find them a better choice ingredient wise then atkins bars etc. Hope this helps!

| Thanks Jen! What is almond breeze? This is the first I have heard of it. How much are the walmart ones? Titian ps - last night went well. I think these may be an option for me. |
