| I've had many days where I've eaten 1/2 dozen... <blushing> "Eggs may be eaten liberally" says Dr. Atkins. This means, eat until satisfied, as they are a HEALTHY, LEGAL food, with almost a perfect balance of protein, fat, and carbs. Eggs *do* contain carbs (about .6g per large egg, round up to 1g to be safe) and those must be included in your daily carb counts. There is nothing wrong with eating eggs for breakfast, and having eggs later during the day. Often I'll eat eggs twice a day. I eat egg salad for lunch, I'll eat hardboiled eggs as a snack, and some nights I'll have a scramble with eggs, sausage, peppers, and onions. Eggs are simply a protein that contain a small amount of carbs, much like shellfish or organ meats.

| Man I've eaten a dozen eggs in a day before, LOL For me they are easy to prepare as well as quick. So if I am done with making everyone else's meal and only have a little time left for myself I just cook up some eggs. I always have a dozen or two hard boiled and on hand for the week as well.

| Long ago when Dr. Atkins was still involved with the Atkins Plan ........NOT to be confused with Atkins Nutritionals, I called and was told the amount of eggs per day should be held at 4 or 5.
