Exclamation I have a question about Atkins and exercise (might be silly) lol

I was curious..if I do Atkins and don't get the time to workout for a while will I lose muscle? It's been a few weeks since I've been to the gym regularly and I had a couple of carby days in there. It's not like I'm completely seditary or anything, but I'm just not at the gym. And I was wondering if that was enough to make me gain fat and lose muscle..? I'm still losing weight, back on strict Atkins, and I feel good. However, I don't see the results as much now. Ya know? I have lost inches (or maintained in some areas). So..I'm just wondering if that's bad or good.
Silly?
Thanks for your time.

Your question is not silly at all...
My experience with Atkins is and even the book tells us not to even consider Atkins without exercise. It's not a good combination at all. Yes you will still lose but it's the exercise that really gets your body's metabolism revved up into super fat burning mode. The only way your body will lose muscle is if you don't eat enough food so make sure you are eating; even if you don't feel hungry. I know a lot of people don't have time to go to the gym but there are always options to work out at home. Pop in a work out DVD of your choice and away you go! Schedule the time into your evening or get up a little earlier in the morning and exercise. Atkins works best when combined with exercise and plenty of water so don't forget to hydrate your body either. Netflix.com is a great resource for a HUGE selection of exercise DVD's. No late fees or time frames either so workout as long as you like with your favorite DVD, send it back and get something different!
I wish you well with Atkins

Exercise doesn't have to be a formal thing. Parking far from the entrance work or a store and walking, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, mowing the lawn, etc all count.

If you are eating well I don't think you would lose really any muscle mass, per se, but you probably would lose muscle effeciency. The more you do an action, the more ready your muscles are to do that action. Does that make sense? If you can get back into it, soon your muscles will be reved up again.

the 1st time I started Atkins (7 years ago), I did not exercise on a regular basis. Yep, I lost 29lbs in 3 months and also lost muscle. I wouldn't go that route again. Try incorporating some sort of activity that gets your heart rate up. It will do you do much good in the long run
Good luck!
