Everyone is talking about increasing fat intake. How do you do this without increasing protien intake? What are good sources of fat?

some excellent sources of fat are mayo, oil, cream, and butter. There is also cheese, avocados (mmm...), and if you are on the right rung nuts.

butter and oil to me are the easiest ones to add. Sauteed veggies are just the tastiest to me I also like broccoli with melted butter.

heavy cream in some decaf coffee is quick easy way, also I add a little extra olive oil to my salads or atop my veggies and sautee them in butter.

I also take 2 tbsp of an omega oil once a day in my yogurt. I use udo's 3.6.9 but a lot of people just toss some flax oil in their yogurt.

Extra virgin olive oil.... yummmm! I toss veggies in it, use it in salads, cook meat in it. It's wonderful.
Butter too....

Default Re: Good fat sources?

I recently decided to work on getting more of the healthiest fats up in my diet to see what it would do to my cholesterol. I started using even more extra virgin olive oil, avocado, black olives and fatty fish like salmon and tuna in my diet and when I had blood work done on March 10th it had done wonders. My good cholesterol was up another 10 points and my bad down 11 points.

I never liked avocado, but have learned to like it, especially as guacamole. I eat it on eggs and salads and love it. I had always loved black olives, but had never heard of tapenade, now it is one of my favorite foods. It is made with black olives, garlic, capers and lots of olive oil. I eat some every day. I also eat coconut oil every day. Another easy way is to add a little extra olive oil to full fat salad dressing.

There are many delicious and healthy ways to get the fat up in your diet and you will see that you have more energy and you stay full longer.

Sunny!

I try to eat 1/2 of avocado a day. I drink heavy whipping cream without even whipping it. I also take a tablespoon of coconut oil and flax seed oil a day. Now that I moved up to the nut rung, I take either 5 macadamia nuts or a tablespoon of almond butter.
