Default Has anyone tried the BodyBugg?

I admit to being a gizmos guy, and I was always fascinated on "The Biggest Loser" with the little digital things they wore. So I bought one It's called the BodyBugg (www.bodybugg.com) and it is worn on your arm to monitor calories burned throughout the day (as well as steps, activity level, etc). You still have to manually enter a food journal for it to compare the data against. So far I'm finding it pretty accurate.

Anyway, has anyone else used the gizmo? The one thing I don't like is that the food journal does not give you any choices for a low carb diet plan. So my numbers in terms of fat/protein/carbs always looks out of whack. Still, it does give me a good calories and activity measure.

Wow, I really like the looks of that though I wish there was a low carb option. That sort of surprises me since a lot of people on the biggest looser are on lower carb eating programs though they don't necessarily scream it on the show. I wish I had cable so I could watch the show Do you thing the body bug is worth it if you don't use the food log? I am wondering because "structured" exercise is difficult for me to stick to so I'm trying to integrate activity into my everyday life and a way to track my progress would be wonderful.

The BB is supposed to be amazing! Not optimal for Atkins but it's just an amazing invention!

It sounds like it would be. I am running into an interesting discovery. When I was doing typical dieting calorie in versus calorie out never worked and wasn't predictable at ALL but on Atkins it actually is pretty on target. I don't watch my calories much beside making sure I eat enough but the relationship between the two does chart out but didn't on low fat. For me I think low carb has corrected imbalances and allowed my body to correct inefficiencies that preventing me from being able to control my weight using calories only. But I haven't gotten to the point were I don't think they matter. I eat a lot more on low carb and lose more but compared to my RMR it isn't so much that low carb makes calories not matter but low fat jacked up my system till I could gain on air. So I think this would be awesome for me but... in what ways is it not optimized for low carb. Is it just the ratios and goals the online system uses or something more? Will it turn into a red blinking bomb shouting "eat wheat" at me

Entering in the food log is helpful because if you have the digital display (watch) it tells you what your calorie deficit is for the day. That's pretty neat. What I'm finding is that having it actually motivates me to take more steps, keep a closer eye on my calorie count, and in general motivates me towards losing weight. It is, in many ways, a little electrical lie detector! I can't fool myself that I've done all this hard work when the BodyBugg tells me I've been moderately active for all of 48 minutes today What I'm doing is using FitDay to track my low carb stats, and the BodyBugg site just for calories. A little more work but it makes sense for me so far.

Playing with the site a little more, I actually submitted a question to the support staff to see if there is a way to set the diet plan to a low carb version. I don't know that there is but I'm hopeful. This little gizmo really is addictive though. My wife laughs at me every time I sync my watch to my arm band so I can check out my latest stats.
