But for those in the early stages of Atkins sugar laden ice cream should not be on the menu, even in small portions.

Love kabobs. I never thought of them as junk food. Of course, they're not all that common over here. That must be a British thought!

But when it comes to minerals, white bread triumphs. This is because, since the Second World War, all white bread-making flour in the UK is fortified with calcium and iron (as well as the B vitamins B1 and niacin).
Can someone explain the logic here please. Take one food that has liitle to no nutritional value, supplement it with vitamins and minerals, and now it's good for you? Why not just take a multivitamin supplement and be done with it?

Crap fortified with vitamins and minerals is still crap.

Over here, some marketing genius discovered that some studies show that L-Carnitine helps mobilize fat. So Del monte Foods add L-Carnitine to sugary fruit drinks and come up with Del Monte Fit 'n Rite. They even have the gall to market it as an aid to weight loss. Sheesh.
