| Pineapple juice has 4.3 grams of carbohydrate per ounce. That's roughly equivalent to a teaspoonful of sugar per ounce. An 8 oz. glass of pineapple juice is equivalent to 34.4 grams of carbs or 8 teaspoons of sugar. Even if pineapple burns carbs, it'll put in more than it will burn. To my knowledge, there is no such thing as a carb burning product on the market. Stick to water.

| Actually I have heard that green tea does promote weight loss. something about the antioxidents in it being awesome for your system. Just make sure its decaf and that if you use a sweetner use splenda (or stevia whichever you prefer). As far as effective carb burning I don't really think there is anything. Plus this is a low carb way of eating, not a no carb one. Products that burn more fat would be more benefitial. In my experience, the more fat I ate the more fat I lose. Healthy fat consumption is a great way to burn current excess fat. oils, butter, eggs, avocados, olives, cheese are great examples. Whole, non processed foods are the way to go. and water. Lots of clean tasty water |

Remember, Atkins is a low carb diet, not a no-carb diet. During my loss I was able to eat 50 net carbs per day and still lose weight. I currently can eat 60-65 net carbs daily without gaining weight. Your body will use the carbs you eat on Atkins so the chance of storing as fat is neglible.

| Green tea is a good source of a "non-stimulating" thermogenic. The way that it works is that it contains phytochemicals called ECGC's. In your body there are natural chemicals that stimulates lipolysis (fat burning). The chemicals are called catecholamines and go by epinephrine (adrenaline) or norepinephrine(noradrenaline). Well Epi and NE get broken down by an enzyme called COMT and MAO. I haven't studied this in a while, but I believe that the ECGC's block only the COMT, which allows your natural hormones to do more fat burning and provide you more natural energy. These answers always get longer than I thought. Hope that helps. |
