Default Abs Diet & Eating Every Three Hours

Hi,

I was reading the Abs Diet. Frankly, it appears to me much like Atkins phase 3 - but it has two interesting twists.

1. You eat every 3 hours on it.

2. You exercise quite a bite.

Ignornign the exercise, which all diets need, what about the eating every three hours bit (for a total of 6 smaller meals). Has anyone had particularly good luck w/this. I've been at it for a few days and all I really feel is hungrier.

Thx!

It's known that eating 6 small meals a day is better and healthier as long as the meals ARE healthy and in small portions .. this way keeps your metabolism energized and have more energy. But IMO I think this way of routine is suitable for "already-fit" people who want to be healthier and maybe build muscles and shape their bodies. You are feeling hungrier because they are small meals + you're excercising so your body needs more fuel to burn. If you dont need to lose weight and you just want to be healthier and shape your body .. then I suggest you stick with the 6 meals a day routine and you will see changes in the long run.

But if you need to lose weight like the rest of us here ... then do Atkins

I have done it and been very sucessful with, however, I eventually lose control with the rigidness of it. Not to mention, I find that I was always hungry on it and never satisfied. For weightloss good, for long term solving the carb addictions, not so good IMO.

I do eat 6 small meals a day, I do think it's beneficial, especially with exercise as it's keeps you constantly full. I find i'm much more satisfied this way. It's supposed to help boost metabolism...

I think you can do the 6 small meals a day and still be doing Atkins, it's all personal preference. Some people can do just 3 meals, some 3 meals with snacks etc. it's up to you.

I have been eating 6 small meals a day for 3 weeks. I have lost 5lbs in those 3 weeks.
I exercise a lot - 2hours a day, 6x a week. I love it, My day doesn't feel right without it.
It works - that's all I can tell you - my body is much happier because of it

I think everyone is different. I prefer 3 meals a day with smaller snacks in between if I feel hungry

If I were to eat 6 small meals a day, I'd get fired because I would be spending more time on break eating than at my desk working, lol.

I already spend too much time in the kitchen. However, the few times I've found myself eating more but smaller meals, I noticed my total calorie intake for the day was lower.
If I was rich, with a maid, a cook, and no job to worry about, I might consider eating that way regularly

Well - after trying it for a 10 days - I GAINED 5 lbs!!!

It works great when I'm working - but if I'm home - the snacks just become TOO LARGE.

Yeesh. I'm actually goign to have to drop into induction on Monday to correct for this.

Ah welll......live and learn.

If you are in OWL or Pre-Maintenance, there is no reason to drop to Induction level carbs---just pick up where you left off.
