| pre-made hard boiled eggs, olives, cut up veggies, maybe even some string cheese. Make sure you are also drinking plenty of water - trips can get a bit thirsty. |

| This is my first post... so I hope I do it right. I like pork rinds ( well I don't but they work for me while on induction) and with them I like a cheese you can buy... its old nippy cheese in a red pot... a little expensive... but no carbs.. and it is so processed it can stand being out of the fridge for a while... for me it satisfies the crunch and the tang I miss the most when doing induction... celery is also good with this cheese... I think it is called imperial... it is a red container like a cream cheese container and has a black lid. It is usually above the cream cheese in the grocery store... Good luck with the trip! Kathy |

| I don't have any advice about any of this, since I'm new too and haven't quite been able to find quick snacks besides hardboiled eggs and string cheese... but I was wondering what the consensus was on beef jerky? I forgot to look for it at the grocery store yesterday so I could check out the label. |

| I've always turned to string cheese and/or beef sticks. I buy the beef sticks at Kroger and there all sorts of different kinds (beef, pepperoni, turkey, etc). The beef sticks are good and there aren't any carbs if I recall correctly. Just make sure you have water with you!! |

| How about you check out Linda's Site with lots of induction legal recipe's http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/recipes.html The ones with the * star are induction friendly and I think you will find quite a few snacks and stuff, which don't need to be kept cold.

| Kitchen Table brand cheese crackers (or make your own) are pretty good. they are just cheese, baked or fried to remove the fat and they get all crispy |

| Why don't you start Induction after your trip? That way all the pressure and anxiety of not being able to eat correctly during the trip won't be on your shoulders?

| Megs, Bless your heart. You're the first one who has said what I've been thinking. Thanks to everyone for sharing your ideas and allowing me to think "out loud!" I am already so impressed with the great support here! Best, Jen 218/197.8/140 |

| Good call, Megs! While waiting to start induction, Jen, maybe you can start some of the other aspects of Atkins - making sure you drink enough plain water, exercising, giving up caffeine, cutting down on sugars etc.
