| Actually he doesnt say to ignore carbs in eggs as far as I know - in the carb counter at the back of the book he lists 0.6 carbs per egg I think - havent got it to hand to chack but eggs are listed. Are you deducting any fibre carbs and counting 'net' carbs which is another difference from the old Dr Atkins Diet Revolution? If you have been countng total carbs and have been eatng veg you might not have been eating over the 20 net carbs at all. Congratulations on the 2 kg lost so far How much weight in total are you hoping to lose? Look at the chart in DANDR to see what metabolic resistance to losing weight your own loss reveals. Many people dont lose weight consistently so to lose nothing in week two is not unusual anyway

| Hello There is no need to reduce your veggie intake for the sake of cheese. Veggies are that important Congrats on those 5 pounds GONE! |

| Pixy, I've found on induction that I usually lose around 7 pounds the first week, and very little if anything the next. Then, I start losing again when I move on to OWL, slowly adding it more carbs. A few thoughts: 1) Since you only have 19 more pounds to lose, keep in mind that 5 in two weeks is a lot! 2) You should count ALL carbs -- from veggies, cheese, eggs, cream, everything. 3) As Elizellen said, be sure to subtract the fiber, so that you know your total NET carbs. 4) Be sure you aren't doing a low fat version of Atkins -- that can also slow you down. Your ratios should be 60% fat, 35% protein, and 5% carbs. A handy (free) way to keep track is by using www.fitday.com. You may want to check it out if you haven't already. Best of luck to you! |
