Default Can my CCLL really be 20????

Hi All, having trouble losing ...or losing VERY SLOWLY!!, did 2 weeks induction, lost 2 kg (4lbs) in 2 weeks (15-20 carbs/day) (means I have high- medium metabolic resistance right?), then week 3 only dropped .5kg(1 lb) at 20 carbs per day, and week 4 same thing about 0.6kg (1.3lb) at 23 carbs per day. Week 5 has been only 0.8lbs at average 26 carbs per day, and this week has actually gone up 0.5lbs (reduced carbs to 20 or just over again). Does this mean I have a very low CCLL, I'm petrified of staying on 26 carbs for another week to see if weight goes up, cause every gram that goes up makes me seriously upset, I feel like I've been working so hard for 6 weeks, only to have lost just under 4 kgs (8lbs)....My hubby has lost 17lbs already eating the same . My BMR is around 1300, I have an average of 1500-1600 cals a day, I have a desk job, but have been starting with excercise this past week. And no, tape measure hasnt really moved that much either .

Surely my CCLL can't be that low?? Or can it? I havnt really even moved up the rungs yet....

I'm not in that much of a hurry to lose weight, 0.5kg (1lb) per week is fine, but does that mean I have to stay on low low carbs to keep it up???

Heeeeelllllppppp!!!!............

It is certainly possible. If you remember from the book, Dr. Atkins provided a case study of one of his female patients who had to stay at 20 grams for 2 years to get the weight off. However, this is a very rare occurrence and before you resign yourself to 20 grams of carbs I would post your menu in the proper forum as most people are just eating something they shouldn't be or not eating something they should be, which causes their weight loss to stop or slow down temporarily.

I am not sure about the pounds/kg conversion, but from what I can see you have already lost in 6 weeks over a third of your total goal loss. So i am thinking you have very little to lose total. IF so, you can expect it to come off very slowly and the occassional upward fluctuation can be expected too due to variances in fluids, salt intake, etc.

Also you said you just started exercising. As you continue excercising you will increase your metabloism and lose faster. Don't be surprised though if you are exercising hard or doing strength training, if you see another upward jump for a bit as muscle weighs more than fat. Keep it up, you will get there!

Converting your stats so USA members know them, you are 5ft 3 and a bit inches tall, SW137.8 / CW130 /GW115 and your BMI is about 22.9

As losetocruise suggested, as you have already lost 1/3 of your hoped-for weightloss you are not doing so badly

Weightloss is never an even downward slide, and we all get weeks when we dont lose or even gain, it is just how the human body acts

Needing to lose 22.5 in total you lost 4 pounds in the first 14 days, which I reckon would make your resistance to weightloss just a little higher than average according to the chart in DANDR
Quote:
Degree of Metabolic Resistance for Women
Pounds Lost in First 14 Days When Metabolic Resistance is high, average or low:
Pounds to Lose ............ High ...... Average ........ Low
Less than 20 ............ 2 ............ 4 ............ 6
20-50 .................... 3 ............ 6 ............ 9
Over 50 .................. 4 ............ 8 ............ 12
But if you do fear you are going to have a low CCLL why not climb the OWL rungs by doing what is sometimes called here a 'modifed OWL' by swapping out 5 net carbs of the rung foods rather than adding 5 net carbs?

Thanks Elizellen - yes I'll give that a try rather, and just take it slow...thanks for working out what you think my metabolic res is - I was petrified I was doomed for bad luck . I'll just relax a little with timing and see what happens .
