| I know you have to add it in slowly to start. I believe there use to be a thread about the SEEDS not really being digestable so are better to have ground or chewed throughly.

| Elsie is right - if you eat the whole seeds you will not be getting any of the oils and other good things in them. Also I read on Community | FitLinxx Forums that they can cause dental problems Quote:
As for too much flax causing problems, apparently too much of it can actually cause constipation, so as with all fibre supplements make sure you drink enough water to alleviate any extra issues.

| I think the only real restriction is on induction where you are allowed 2-3 tablespoons as needed to prevent constipation. I eat quite a bit of it. I have one or two of the muffin in a minutes each day which means I'm having about 1/2 cup a day of the flax meal. i love the taste of it, I'm getting a great bread substitute and I am getting a lot of fiber. I also drink enormous amounts of water and have had no problems. I have heard that some people are allergic, so if you are new to flax seed I would say go slowly. I was already using a fair amount before I heard that caution LOL, so I am lucky it did not apply to me. |

| I use it as well, however have not noticed any results. I mix in 2 TBS with water every other day. But those husks work real good. (Phyllis husks or something like that) I ran out and need to restock. God Bless, Joe |
