| Welcome NewLeaf! And Bill, you can make it through without a slug I bet. On the days you really don't feel like exercising just force yourself to do something litte. Even walking around the block is better than nothing. You can do it!

| hello everyone, welcome to our new buddy newleaf. feel free to join in and enteract with us anytime. i finally went back to bed this morning around 5:45 am and got a few more hrs sleep. no more headache, thank goodness. i'm enjoying having today off work. it's nice having a day where DH isn't home & i can get things done around the house without him wanting to go run around all over the place. i'm looking forward to going for a bike ride again, hopefully next time i won't have that horrible headache and can truly enjoy it. it had been about 20 yrs since i had ridden one and i did pretty good despite not feeling well. study- thanks for the suggesting the pumpkin, i have been trying to eat it quite a bit, and also been eating jicama which is another veggie high in carbs. i'm starting to think now though that it really has more to do with still not having much of an appetite and not cooking enough so that i don't over eat than it really has to do with what i'm eating. atkins is such a wonderful appetite suppressant!!! i will be trying to make sure i use the higher carb value veggies more often so that i can keep those carb counts up a bit. elsie-"weigh" to go on the 3 lbs loss. today would be my normal weigh in day too, but since TOM arrived, will wait another week until i weigh in. i did take my measurements again though and lost a total of 6.75 inches in the last week, so that's pretty motivating. well it's only a couple more hours til DH gets home and i'm gonna try to get my 15 min. stability ball workout in and then get my laundry done, then start dinner for us. we are having pan fried bass(fish caught in canada by my parents last week) with cajun seasoning for breading, onion rings with pork rinds for breading, cabbage, and green beans. maybe some jicama fries too. hope everyone is having a great day, will check in again later tonight. monie

| 6WEC is short for the 6 week exercise challenge. there are many of us in this group who signed up for it when it began on june 29th. the challenges are a great tool in helping stay accountable for exercising. you set a goal at the beginning of the challenge for whatever that specific challenge is for, and strive to reach and/or exceed the goal you made. there are many exercise challenges going each month, such as abs, pushups, squats, mileage, stability ball, even one for hula hoops and jump roping. the challenges can be lots of fun too. monie

| For those of you on the dairy rung I made a discovery today at the store that the small 1 serving containers of FAGE Total 5% greek yogurt have exactly 5 carbs in them which is perfect for rung 2. Make sure its the 5% though because other ones have different amounts in them. If you've never had FAGE and you like yogurt it is the BEST. It goes really well with honey too and Nature's Hollow makes this stuff called "tastes like honey" which is sugar free and really good. Its made from xylitol which is all natural sugar alcohol. If you read Sherri's journal you can hear her talking all about how xylitol is really good for you. Anyway, I just climbed to rung 2 so I thought I would share. Also congrats n the 3 pounds Elsie and keep drinking that water Cori!
