| Val...way to go on your on your test results! Sassy...atta girl for not letting DH talk you into a little sugar. Tell him to smarten up...we have some ripe tomatoes with his name on them otherwise!! Don't forget to replenish your change purse. When the sugar twin is gone then switch to Splenda as sugar twin is not one of the recommended sweetners. Good will power! f4n...Congrats on the 2 pound loss!!! And on the 2 dollar deal! Val...glad you finally got some time for yourself! I am sure you will be seeing a difference in the scale soon. I hope you wouldn't have given up unless you had seen him lose 25 because 12-14 pounds in 6 weeks is nothing to scoff at either. You are averaging 2 plus pounds a week. That isn't bad. I would take it. Val...good for staying true while out for breakfast. Those little splurges BF is having are coming awfully close together. You have worked too hard to go down that slippery slope! Way to go on the exercise. Joe...you did good with that small gain during holidays. Now that you are able to get back to your schedule and drink adequate water and get enough sleep and eat more balanced I am sure you will be back down in no time at all. Elizabeth...welcome and congrats on you 4.5 pounds down. As far as next week goes if it is buffet then choose the salad with the protein for lunch and dinner. Print out the wallet size induction list in the main forum section and bring that with you. Keep up with your water. Bring some snacks with you. Cheese sticks. Pepperoni that has been mic'd for a min. They get crisp like chips. So does cheese. Pork rinds. Good luck!! Mike...WOW...that is awesome for the month! Good attitude on the weight gain. Those darn diet cokes anyway! Like you already know...sometimes our bodies do flucuate and choose weigh day to do it...good for you for not letting it get you down. You know this WOE works for you and you learned a bit about your body this week...so all in all a good week..AND 2 days cheat free!!! See I am watching.

| hello everyone. well it's confession time for me today. i fell off the wagon pretty hard last night. i will spare you all the gorey details, but i guess i just let my grief get the best of me. with that being said and a little of the guilt off my shoulders now, i should tell you how i began my day. the first thing i did was come here and get on the board to catch up on any buddy posts i hadn't read yet. DH and i had already said last night that we wanted to take the bikes out to the trails today, so after getting my ADBB fix, i was ready to go. it was a beautiful day for a ride here and so we took a 7 mile bike ride on a part of the trail we hadn't been on yet. we felt so refreshed afterwards and knowing that our DBH would have been proud that we got out and did something instead of just staying hold up in the house grieving. in the home stretch of the ride, i was really struggling, then i thought of her and about this funny little barking pattern she used to have.(we used to tease her all the time over it and mock the same pattern back at her.) so with every peddle, in my mind i kept saying "woof woof woof, woof woof woof" and it worked!!! i know that may sound a little silly, but it kept me pushing till we reached the end of the ride. i'm back on the wagon with my food and water today, and intend to stay there. sure i know that i may slip up again in the future, as i'm only human, but i have the desire to be a healthier, happier, more content person. DH and i have some major house repairs that we need to do before we try to introduce another pet into our home. things that we had just let go, but it will be good to have a reason to get going on them. knowing that when they are done, we will be ready to bring another joy into our lives, that will really motivate us to get moving and get it done. i will try to catch up with all the other post later in the day, going go catch up with some other things here on the board now. thanks for listening and supporting me during my time of grief and for sharing you pet stories too. DH and i already feel much better. |

| Hi all, Just checking in with you all. Today was my first dairy free day. Hope it is all worth it because it is not easy. Most Atkins recipes contain cheese or dairy including the cheesecake that I used to eat every day. Even egg yolks =( We'll see how it works out for me, if this takes care of my problems then it's still worth it. Went to Boston today and walked around and went to Fanuiel Hall. Of course it had to be raining really hard, but oh well I had fun. Food is so plain without cheese!!!! |

| Well I know this is my third day...but oh my god, I believe I'm in total Ketosis mode. I woke up feeling like I got hit by a car. I was physically hurting--my arms and my legs. I felt like I was walking in slow motion while everything around me was in fast forward and my head totally just wanted to come off my shoulder. I checked out this website tonight (Ketosis Symptoms - LoveToKnow Diet) and I pretty much have every symptom there except the metallic taste in my mouth and the sleeping problem. I LOVE SLEEP! I just wanted to mention to the buddies on this list...I enjoy knowing that fellow New Englanders are out there. I moved out of NH in Oct of 2006 and miss it a lot. I hope that the storms have passed--I read a lot of damage happened out that way. Texas got hit with a hurricane--too far from me thank goodness. I miss going to Maine during the summertime..the smell of the ocean, the sound of the waves. We have yet to get anywhere near the coast of Texas. Austin is great...HUGE and there's lots to do ...but I sometimes miss that small town feeling. Day 3 didn't go that horrible carbwise. I purchased a box of Atkins bars last night so that I could have a "snack" if I felt the need. And oh yeah today I needed it. Breakfast was 2 scrambled eggs with sausage and cheddar cheese. I had tons of water today..about 50 ounces altogether..I'm getting better about it. Lunch consisted of two pieces of chicken and a salad (arugula, spinach, cucumbers and vinegarette dressing). Tonight's supper was good...sauteed squash and zucchini with a small piece of steak and shrimp! I told my hubby that I hope the ketosis symptoms lessen soon...I feel like I'm having a hangover--and I hardly ever drink! I'm sorry that I don't respond a lot to people posting..but I'll try harder!Goodnight all! |
