side effects?

hello!

so I've been on induction since the 14th. everything is cool, haven't cheated, don't intend to change my eating for awhile, and really don't intend to go back on the old habits this time.

now the problems...my face is breaking out. which is no real problem. but I'm also holding water in my lower extremities, and I really HATE that. I had a real problem with that last year, when I worked in a high-storey office. this year, not so bad, but has definitely worsened in the past couple of days. any suggestions? I'm drinking a lot of water (well over 8 glasses per day), and without processed food in my diet anymore, my sodium intake is pretty good.

I'm still gonna stick to plan, as eating the OTHER way was making everything else worse, but ech! edema is gross!

Boy, that sounds like a medical issue to me. Can you check with your doctor?

Are you talking zits or rash?

Zits----grease, grime, dirt, sweat, etc. All those great teenage things (no matter how old we are). A natural cleanser twice a day will help along with drinking water and exercise.

Rash---allergic reaction. A trip to the doc might be in order or cortizone if you'd rather.

I have greasy-kid face during PMS, it's normal for me to have one or two zits, but I also use a natural cleanser to help.

All else fails and you have a great doc, go see them

not a rash, just a few zits. for me, that constitutes a breakout. I think I have 4 or so.

as for the ankles...bleh. I guess I'll go to the doc. though I really don't want to, given that he might tell me to cool it with the atkins.

If he does, you might want to ask him why. It could be that he is mis-informed about what the Atkins diet truly is.

i know i hold a lot of water when i start drinking a lot.. body not sure what to do with it.. drink your water and your body will get used to being hydrated and it will let the ankles go

RIGHT! I didn't even think that it would hold it if I increased my intake! I'll up the water, if there's no improvement after a couple of weeks, I'll go to the doc.
