Question Birthday coming up - now what??

Hey y'all!! My sister and I will be entering our first week of OWL next week, which also happens to coincide with our 29th birthday (July 30). Here's the problem... it has always been our birthday tradition to go to Coldstone's and have a whopping ice cream treat, but we definitely aren't going to do that now.

Does anybody have any recipes or other ideas about what we could do instead of the traditional ice cream blowout?? Any OWL - Rung 1 dessert ideas would be great (if there are any). Thanks!!!

Great ideas! Thank you both!!! I've printed off the cheesecake recipe and as far as doing something fun... all I have to do is figure out how to fit it in the budget... though some of your ideas do seem to be budget-friendly

Not to be a fun sucker ....I agree---don't celebrate with food. Legal or not.

Why? Because traditions are that---traditions.

Start a new tradition to celebrate without food.

We're going to have a lot of celebrations ahead of us, birthdays, anniversaries, halloween, Christmas, thanksgiving, new years, ground hog day, I cleaned my room day, the dog walked today, I drove the speed limit today...you get the idea. Just keep in mind that you deserve to enjoy celebrations by remembering why you celebrate them---not food.

You're all absolutely correct and I do need to change my mindset about celebrating special occassions... but I've never known anyone to celebrate a birthday without some sort of a 'cake' whether that be a traditional cake or something low carb that is 'cake-like'. And mind you I'm talking about having a slice, not the whole cake, lol! So, that's really all I was looking for, but I definitely understand what you're all saying and it is a point well taken.
