| I added stretch's and sit-ups to my workouts... I think someone has become a workout fanatic! Way to go Bill! I may be at the body adjusting phase--introduced so many new foods--and eating a bit different--"may" cause my weight to stay the same--1/2 pound 1 week, stall the next, 1/2 pound 3rd week, stall again-- type of thing- during the metabolism regulating itself ...Don't care--and not Worried! I love the positive attitude! Perseverance will win the race.. one day Sassy! ---Wowwie Wow! you must be so psyched! I did extended induction too! no worries--you'll know when to move along! or we bud's will help you when your ready! Thank you for the enthusiastic support and yes I'm a lil psyched to say the least! One day soon, I won't have to wear the "Big Beautiful Women" clothes anymore!! I can't wait to see the thin me that's been hiding for so many years. As for extending my induction phase, I'm not worried in the slightest as Dr. A even says in his book that 6 months on it is fine if you have lots to lose. So I'll play it by ear and see how it goes. Thanks for the support in all areas. I hope your dw and dd are doing well. PS. Not sure how this message will post as I just took out the quotes, so if it's not labeled in some way, this post is meant for Bill.

| f4n...glad you enjoyed your crunches on the ball! Sassy...it is very quiet here without you!! Way to go on your stair challenge. Noone does as well the second week as the first. 3 pounds is great for the second week. 13 pounds for the 2 weeks is awesome!!! And all those inches too!!! and a visit from the whooshie fairy for the other 3! What a good day you must be having! If you try any induction recipes you like post them in my never ending induction recipe thread. You will be doing both me and Monie a favor. Helping me by keeping it growing and helping Monie from having to bump it up...LOL! Boiled radishes can taste like a slightly spicy potato...most of the bite of them are boiled out. Bill...way to go on adding more exercises and on not quitting when the going gets rough. Stick to the plan and it will start coming off again. Mike...I wasn't thinking anything big...more like drink 8 cups of water...eat 3 cups veggies...no cheats kinds of things. Weigh to go on the half pound down...goes to show how much your body appreciates you treating it well and staying on plan. Carmella...Good for you for getting right back on track. If the cornstarch was the only thing in there that wasn't on plan you did well. Nice of him to try to accomadate you guys! Sugar...here is what I have in my notes. Check the stickies in the OWL forum as well...there may be something there as well...not really sure though. | hey you guys!!!!! the bike ride was OMG!!!!! ......difficult to say the least. we rode about 8 miles, and by about 6 i was dying....i don't know if it was me, the bike(as i'm still getting used to having a bike with different speeds),or just the fact that i worked so much last week and wasn't really rested up from it. it could have also been the sore toushie (we went after the ride and bought some padded bike shorts). it was still a great day here to get out and ride, so i'm glad we did. we are looking into investing in some recumbent bikes, i want a trike, but i think DH is gonna go with the 2 wheeled one. there is a place at one area of our local bike paths that rents them, so next weekend we are thinking about renting some to see if we like them before we buy them.chasesigi-welcome to our little group, and welcome back to this WOE. don't let yourself get too paranoid, it's really not as difficult once you really read the book and also all the sticky's on the induction forum. the sticky's really help and are very detailed. as far as the things you listed in your post: *Diet coke-2 things....not recommended because it contains aspertame which is not a healthy sweetner for many reasons, and the caffeine, because it can cause unstable blood sugar. if you feel like you need that soda taste, diet rite would be a better choice as it is made with splenda, and has no caffeine. *Turkey sausage-many turkey subs for things like bacon, sausage,...etc. have ingredients added to them to make them taste more like the real thing. usually has sugar too. why not eat regular sausage? it's a good source of fat and protein. remember this is not a low fat diet, so the real deal is fine to eat, just make sure to read your labels for sugars added in the processing. it may take a little searching through all the options at the store, but you should be able to find something acceptable. *Cheese-you can have it, just limit yourself to no more than 3-4 ozs a day. just know that it can effect some people in a negative way and if you stall, cut down your consumption a little bit or even completely until you can eliminate it as the cause. *Pork rinds-a great substitute for breading. also great for a snack, but you may want to limit portions as well because they are high in sodium. overeating them could cause some water retention in some people. *I can't belive its not butter-i don't really have alot of info to give you on this as i normally just use regular butter(unsalted if i think to look for it) *Jello-another thing made with prohibited sweetners(atleast last time i looked at a box) if you have to have it, i can suggest a recipe. diet rite also makes several flavored sodas made with splenda. you can buy unflavored gelatin(should be with the regular jello) and follow the recipe on the box using diet rite flavored sodas in place of the water. remember that anything made with splenda needs to be counted a 1 carb per serving and we are only limited to 3 servings of sweetner per day on induction. *Tomatoes-they are absolutely allowed for induction. tomatoes are one of the "other veggies" allowed on induction. you may have up to 1 cup of them daily. they are a little higher in carbs, and will help you if you are having trouble getting in you veggie carbs for the day. here are a couple links that should help you. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...-improved.html (Free wallet sized food list to print! NEW IMPROVED) http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) i wish you all the best. feel free to drop by the buddy list thread any time for questions, support, encouragement and even offer the same to any of us that may need it. monie |

| Moniegail Thank you for the detailed reply. I bought Ketostix today and it shows only Trace so I am wondering what I need to do more. I am cutting out Diet Coke, and cutting down on cheese, I bought bacon today instead. We shall see how it goes. I probably should go for a bike ride too

| a little note on the keto sticks- they are kinda like a pregnancy test(either you are or you aren't) in that if it shows any color at all(even just a trace) than you are in ketosis. darker keto sticks don't necessarily mean you are any more in ketosis than a trace does. i've also heard some say that if they are very dark, it could mean you are or are getting dehydrated. me personally, i don't use them. would rather spend my money on yummy foods than waste it on those. there are other ways to tell you are in ketosis, i posted a link below that might help you. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...tix-color.html (Questions about ketostix color) |
