| I would not feel to badly, you still ate way less carbs than you would have, and now you know carrots are a 'no no.' If you are going to 'blow' it by a couple of sugar grams, the first day would be the day to pick! Just keep eating your low carb/ high fat meals, you will be plunk in lipolysis and burning fat in no time!

| Just always be sure to check the carb counts... not necessarily the sugar grams. Carrots aren't allowed on induction -- have you read Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution? If not, we highly recommend it around here. That said, don't fret. You certainly could have eaten worse things. Just keep truckin' along and be vigilent to keep tomorrow CLEAN and LEGAL. Best of luck! |

| Carrots tricked me too - I thought I was doing well eating them and and I went on for quite a while before I figured it out, which was when I read the book and I started on Induction. Ditto what Adena said: read the book and following the Induction list strictly - it is the best way to go. I've found this is a constant learning process and it pays off! Glenn

| you could have done way worse. you could have eaten a cookie, that would have been bad. so you ate a few carrots on day one atleast they are veggies. now you know they aren't allowed on induction and will carry on with a lesson learned. the first time i did the plan, it never really dawned on me that the bagged salad mixes i had bought at the store contained carrots. it was probably months before i realized it, and just happened to be rereading the book and saw they weren't ment to be added until later on in OWL. i still managed to lose alot of weight during that extended induction period. so a few carrots on day one will probably do you no harm. i wouldn't worry about it too much. definately not something to get frustrated about. day one is just the first step in the beginning of a new life for you as a happier, healthier, skinnier person. i wish you much success on your journey. remember to drink your water. the next couple days maybe rough as your body starts detoxing from all the carbs it's used to getting. that will soon pass, and you'll find that you have a new found energy level. best wishes, monie |

| Hi Lisa06810, carry on as usual. Stay on induction, you will be fine. We are all learning what to eat and not to eat. Sometimes the manufacuters fool us too! You are trying and that is all that counts at this point. You may be one that is really strict as many here are. But, if you do your best you WILL see results. Atkins works and you are doing fine ...ducks for incoming fyi's... |

| Thanks for all your responses. I did read the book, or rather looked through it. I did kinda skip the first few chapters, intending to go back. I was just interested in the induction part first. Its just that bag of salad that i did not bother to pay much attention to. I worked through lunch yesterday at my desk and did not pay much attention to the salad under my tuna. Last night at my 3rd cup of salad is when I noticed. I picked around them at that point, cursing myself. Anyways, I did resist the very strong temptation of going out for margaritas with my coworkers. I guess if I was going to blow it, I could have done it much much worse, lol. Back on track today though. Again, thanks for all your comments. Lisa |

| Good for you staying strong---those marggies can get ya. So, will you go back and read the first chapters again? They're really informative and will add more power in your super belt of knowledge about how Atkins really works.
