Mike, Bill, and Monie -- Fabulous job on your losses!

LOL @ Elsie's "WEIGH to go"!

And speaking of loss, I'm down 3-5lbs! I had my trainer @ the gym weigh me on the scale -- not sure if she minuses the 2lbs for clothes or not, but either way it's only day 6 and that makes me happy and continually motivated!! This is already working!! Still in ketosis of course. IT'S A START!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just hope it keeps going and going and going (off of me, the fat!!)! LOL

Hello all,

I know that I tend to come on here later than most people (due to my work and where I live), but I had a few questions to ask of everyone:

1) Will my appetite ever come back? I don't really feel hungry at all during the day...I know that if I don't eat, I get really dizzy and lethargic..but the cravings for food aren't there. Is this normal?

2) I have been taking a daily supplement of fiber ..but what else can I do? I hate to say it but I'm uncomfortable right now..being "backed up" sucks.

I would like to thank everyone that replies to my post in advance. I've just not felt right in the past four days. My stomach is constantly upset and I have been eating Atkins approved food. Just wish that I could find my happy medium. And oh yeah, I lost another pound..so that makes it 8 in all. Go me!

Goodnight!
--Robin

Britni...atta girl!!! You are doing great. How is Mom doing? Remember the second week is slower. If the stick is registering any color at all you are in ketosis. In fact if it really dark you may be dehydrated. So so long as there is some color.

Robin...appetite suppression is common and most of us end up having to make sure that we eat enough. A way to do this is to make sure you eat more calorie dense foods. Quiches or casseroles help. Moving up the rungs also help...dairy and nuts are a great way to add some calories and fat. And you should be moving up anyway if you read the book with the little amount left you have to lose. You can add some flax to your diet. Buy some flax seed and grind it in your coffee grinder...much cheaper...and you have to grind them...the seeds tend to do nothing but pass right through. You can sprinkle the ground flax on salads or make a flax cracker or there is a flax muffin recipe in the recipe thread in my sig line. Also..since you are adding fiber make sure you add more water also.

Elizabeth...you are doing it right..just jump right in! Welcome!! Congrats on the 11 pounds.

Good Evening Buds!
Hope everyone is doing well and had a great weekend!
Did 20 miles on the bike today and was actually stronger the last few miles then I was when I started! need to keep the momentum going this week.

Warm Welcome to elizebeth--please continue to post your progress and any thing else on your mind! hope you find the support and motivation you need here!

frasier--went thru those same phases--was even at a point where I was force feeding myself--try the very small meals many times a day approach to keep your calorie's even to your basecal--
your also under 25 pounds to reach goal--you can add so much to your diet now--DR A wanted you to go slooowly now into your goal weight because this will be your lifetime maintenance

make a cereal out of the ground flax seed--like an oatmeal--great taste and really cleans the system.

Elsie--Everyone say's hi!! and how are you doing??? still climbing the stairs?
I added calisthenics to the girls routine--jumping jacks, bending to touch thier toes, sit-ups and push-ups and jogging in place and other's to start stretching thier body's and body sculpt them before doing cardio or resistance-- all very sloooow and steady and making sure they rest

hey everyone....hope you had a great weekend. been kinda an emotional day today for me.....don't really know why, but i'm just really missing my DBH(darling basset hound) today. been boo-hooing for the last couple hours. i guess it could be the lack of sleep i got last night, or TOM(sorry guys), or the dream i had during a nap today about our other dog (we lost him 18 months ago), or who knows empty nest syndome maybe......i just know i feel pretty empty inside right now. anyways, gonna have to get through it.........i will get through it. time to concentrate on myself now i guess. today wasn't a very good day as far as eating goes either, so will get back on track tomorrow. i didn't cheat or anything, just didn't eat a whole lot, definately not enough veggies today.

mike- wtg on the 7.5 lbs lost, and 34 lbs total is very impressive.

fat4now- hope you are doing well too.

bill-glad to hear things are starting to get back to some sort of normalcy for you and your family. sounds like you all did pretty well in the weight loss considering you were off the grid for so many days. good luck with the next rung....don't let those pecans, cashews, and peanuts get the best of you.....i know i have to be really careful and buy very small qty's or i will way over do it. i have no self control when it comes to nuts!!!

elsie- hope you are doing well, and have finally had a chance to get rested up from the cousins week.

brittni-wow a great loss already and only day 6. you're doing great and hope you continue to do so.

robin- 1)as you start moving up the rungs and add more carbs, you'll find your appetite will return some. mine has to a degree, but not so bad that it causes any cravings. i managed this time to not have such a degree of a loss of appetite, as i had other times on the plan. i think mainly because i have eaten smaller, more frequent meals and then for snacks eat a little something higher in fat.
2)as far as fiber goes....make sure you are drinking plenty of water everyday. also make sure you are getting all your veggies in, things like broccoli and cabbage are great to get things moving.

wtg on the 8 lbs so far too.

have a good night all and a great monday too......

Thanks Elsie! Mom is doing good, however she hasn't weighed. It's hard for her to eat during the day due to her job as a CNA III but now that we are starting to pack/prepare more meals, I'm SO excited for her lbs to come off too! We are going to a family wedding in August and I think it would be such a shocker for her to lose a bunch of weigh. (I, on the other hand, have to b/c my family hasn't seen me this chunky! LOL)

Thank you so much monie. I am so sorry to hear about your emotional days, but we all have them and it's good to let it out. I completely understand about how attached people can get to their pets as I miss my kitty every day while I'm at work. My heart goes out to you for your loss.

Bill, WTG on the bike!!!

And a warm welcome to Elizabeth!

p.s. Tried two new things today. Fresh green beans with oregano.. didn't like.. so I had snow peas.. and also that pumpkin mixed w/cream cheese and cinnamon... ick. I prefer the real deal I guess, LOL. Not gonna love 'em all I guess! I def. need to cook up some cauliflower pizza tomorrow night or something.. *writing this as to remind herself*

Bill...nope..I haven't been exercising since I was unwell there again. You...on the otherhand...awesome job! And the girls as well! Keep going. Though for some reason I am visualizy you standing over them telling them what to do threatening them with tomatoes if they don't listen...LOL!

(((Monie))) Sorry for your sad day! Maybe you can write a letter to both and release it in a balloon? It is okay to miss them though! Stay strong.

Britini...tell Mom we are rooting for her too!

Okay...am going to start the new thread...
