| Checking in this morning. I'm alright -- things at the new house with the roomies have escalated tremendously. Let's put it this way - they got so drunk they left the oven on, locked themselves out of the house at 12:30 a.m., banged on windows/doors, had 5-6 guys over, etc. I ended up not getting any sleep and had to drive to my mom's house at 3 in the morning because I have responsibilites and apparently don't have my roomies respect. Ay yi yi! So besides all of that dress, I've still stuck to my diet... Just really ache-ing to get more veggies in! Bill - sounds like you live at a FUNHOUSE! Key word being fun though. Robin, don't worry! It will come off. You have to keep pushing and pushing. For the past 2-3 months I've worked with a TRAINER 2 hours a week and dedicated almost every night to working out for at least an hour too with what seemed like no results, but they were there in small amounts of inches. Finally, with Atkins I am losing some weight but it's still slow for me too. 15 days of Induction and... (here's my results Elsie!) I lost "only" 5-7lbs. But I can't complain because I was at such a stand still. So even if I only lose 1-3lbs a week, I'm happy - I haven't gained and I'm losing. Eventually hoping to lose it all you know! I would be just ESTATIC if I lose another 7lbs by Sept. 5th when I go off on Induction and onto the next phase. I started at 170lbs and I'm now 165lbs BUT trainer says -2lbs for shoes/clothes so that means 163... 7 lbs. How is everyone else today????

| Sugar...19 pounds!!! Weigh to go!!! Thanks and I am glad the list is helping!! Good by 300's forever and ever!!! Isn't it amazing not to feel hungry? Britini....ONLY 7 pounds???!!! Are you fricking nuts???!!! (giving you a good shake here) Your goal was to lose 20 pounds...most people lose 5-10% during induction...that would mean 2 pounds for you and instead you lost like what...35%!!!!! And because you have been working so hard you lost more pounds of fat than that since you replaced some with muscle. You only have 13 more pounds to go...I really recommend that you don't wait another 2 weeks before moving on to OWL and that you at least move on to rung one for the next week or two. This is only 5 more carb grams of veggies. There are important lessons to be learned in the rungs that you need to learn before you get to maintenance. Congrats on the 7 pounds Britini...35%...especially when you are so close to your goal is AMAZING!! So sucks about the roomies! What are you going to do??

| HoldingOn <<Sheesh.. I'd give nearly anything to be your start weight>> LOL...I hear you there...so would I. And we will get there. I am excited for Britini because she is dealing with the weight now instead of when she is older. If she sticks to the plan and reads the book to understand the rungs and maintainence she is going to be a very successful Atkineer!! And she sure is determined enough!! How are you doing?

| Thank you HoldingOn and Elsie! You're both very encouraging and I only hope I can provide some type of encouragement and support to you two as well. (group hug LOL) One of the reasons I want to lose this weight is because I'm starting college up next month to become a personal fitness trainer! It's always been a huge part of my life (fitness) and to be able to inspire, prevent, and help people going through weight plateaus would be awesome! Plus I'd be getting paid to stay in shape, LOL I think I might add the veggie carbs as that seems to be my problem -- not getting ENOUGH veggies, so I will look it over in the book again tonight and think about it. I just really want to make my goal is being under the 160lbs mark by Sept. 5th... which is only 3lbs away!!! I definitely wouldn't mind being able to add new veggies, haha... then it'd be easy. peas and corn oh my. As for the roomies, might end up having to get a restraining order on the girl I don't know if she keeps it up...calling me at 3am after I've left the house due to their disrespect, etc. Communication and respect aren't too much to ask for...I enjoy partying just as much as any college kid... but I also have work M-F you know! So, I'm just taking it day by day. I'll try attempting to talk to her again but if it doesn't work we'll see! Its actually a very ongoing long story, we tried to get her to sublet before she even moved in as we knew she wasn't very nice... so it's just super frustrating and heart breaking - I know I'm not perfect but I've really done absolutely NOTHING but try and compromise! It's a tough lesson to learn but I know that I can't change somebody else and how they act though.

| Elsie - yeah, the conference is over, but I stumbled when I got home. Just a combination of the stresses of school starting, some money stress (an expensive home repair on top of all those earlier appliance repairs and replacements), etc. More stress today and I fell back to my old bad ways of dealing with it. I'm off track right now but I'm not quitting. I'll check back in tomorrow with better news. |

| Wowie wow is--Ummm-- "Yankee talk"!? I tend to write how I think- ![]() Anywayz--We are similar--I am 6' --and my Doc chose 200lb for me--thinks I could go for as much as 185--but wants to do another complete physical first--sadly not in my 30's anymore!! more like knocking on the big 50 I was on Atkin's in very early 2000--lost 42 pounds--my goal then was 50 lbs--just stopped--really didn't follow the book--didn't have a support system like this board--and frankly felt so much better--I took it for granted--of coarse I gained it all back and 30 more on top of that... After my Doctor looked at me--like it was the last time he was ever going to look at me again--and a host of other things happening to me-- like brain fog--tired all the time--my career floundering--it was time for a life change-- stumbled onto the board--and just read it for a couple of weeks--went and picked up the book they use here and made a plan--stocked all the food for induction and cooked and froze what I needed--picked up my suppliments--and started a slooooooow--but steady-- excercise routine a week before I joined the board and started induction--based on what I read here. long story short--almost 10 weeks have gone by and I feel even better than I did before--up at 4 am every morning--1.5 to 2 hours excercise then off to work--which now fly's by! and home for 1/2 or 1 hour more excercise--even take my bike to work 1 day a week now (20 miles total) best part is my wife and daughter has seen the change and has joined me in this WOL--They too needed a life change and so far they are very successful also. you will see them on this board as Coribazz--my DD and Jackiebazz--my DW. Been really busy at work because they too have noticed the change and I have been promoted--to the service manager of the entire east coast.. Thank-you Dr A!!! Are you doing this with your hubby?? how far up the rungs have you gone? I do use berries and nuts--but mostly for recipe's right now--first mini goal for me is to get out of the obese zone and just into the overweight zone--pleasently plump? talk to Ya'all soon!--

| hey y'all. hope everyone had a good day today. sorry for the late check in the last 2 nights. DH & i have been going out shopping for new bikes. were trying to find these certain ones carried at walmart, but hubby was hoping to find one not already assembled so that he could put them together himself. he's super anal when it comes to certain things, and the bikes we want and found at one store had been assembled so badly, that he'd have to completely take them apart and reassemble them after we got them home. we've been to about 8 different walmarts in the last two days with no luck finding them still in the box, so looks like we're gonna have to get the ones we originally saw after all. bill- congrats on reaching the half way mark. even bigger congrats on the promotion. no wonder you've been working so hard lately, you've got a whole coast to take care of now. robin- it's so great that your DH is so supportive. i know what you mean about being hard on yourself, i've always been that way to a point. especially when it comes to my weight. just remember you've already taken a big step in just becoming committed to the plan. just keep focused and remember we are here for you anytime you need a little extra support. elsie- to answer your question about exercise, for me at the moment, it's becoming more of a struggle. not really sure why, maybe just bored with my routine or just need to amp it up a bit. there is a new YMCA opening up close to my house soon, in fact this weekend is the open house for it. DH & i are gonna check it out and maybe join. i also think that i get a discount through work, and just waiting to get info from HR dept. i know you're busy with all your company, hopefully you can get some rest and enjoy spending time with family also. sugar- 19 lbs!!!! that's so awesome!!!! you are doing so well. keep up the good work. brittni-so sorry you are having trouble with roomies....but you really have some determination to stick with the plan with all the drama. with determination like that you'll make it to goal in no time. WTG on the 7 lbs lost!!!!! mike-hang in there buddy. i know how ya feel, it seems like whenever something in the house needs fixed, all of a sudden everything else starts breaking down too. went through that a few years ago myself. even though you may have stumbled, you found something out about yourself. you found that you are a stress related eater, now you just have to figure out how to change that. take it one day at a time, and you'll be back on track before ya know it. holding-40 lbs in 53 days.....whoa girl....you're doing awesome!!!! you can totally see a difference in those pics. isn't it wonderful when all the curves start showing. well, it's getting late and i really need some sleep. i've been trying the last two days to get in bed at a decent time. guess i'll have to try again tomorrow night. good night and sweet dreams(legal sweets of course), monie |
