Sorry to hear you're feeling bad Robin. I admire the fact that you were able to stay on plan and keep exercising in spite of it. Hope you feel better soon.

have a good day all, and stay strong!

I feel really crappy today. My ketostix tested positive but it wasn't as dark as usual. It scares me that I am slipping out of ketosis and that I need to be very very strict and NO splenda for the next few days... sigh. That's not that hard to do, just very down. I'm hoping to feel better tonight after my PT session.

Hope you feel better Robin. The stairmaster is SO awesome once you learn the hang of it. It's the hardest machine in the gym and is a total "fat blaster!"

Robin...are you still having trouble with your 'movements'? Are you taking a fiber supplement? Did you up your water to compensate? Did you know that you can also take too much? If you are having trouble getting your meals in then you must be having trouble getting your veggies with will hinder your progress. Consider Bill's advice rather than walking around in pain.

Mike..look at those cheat free days adding up!

Britini...if there is any color on the stix at all you are doing good. Darker doesn't mean better...if it is very dark it could show dehydration..so any color at all if fine.

Carmella...HI!

Bill...good advice.

Hi everyone,

I think a buddy list might be just what i need to stay on track! So I hope it's ok if I jump in?

Today is my 1st clean induction day, after almost 3 weeks of trying to do it my own way and then a bad weekend of not following anything. Guess I should have read more posts to find out that doesn't work so well! But with that said, I have gotten rid of sugar/carb cravings already. My own way did incude crystal light packets and diet coke. I can't say I will give those up forever -but for this week I am going to drink just plain old water and see if it helps.

Today so far (almost noon):
2 eggs, deviled
32 oz water

Lunch will be hamb. patty w/cheese, lettuce w/ranch dressing

After that, I haven't decided yet - need to shop!

Also, 30 minutes on treadmill - doing C25K, 2nd week but doing week 1 again.

P.S. Buddies... is THIS TRUE?? What's this person thinking LOL baking chocolate? I mean I guess if it's completely cocoa and that's a spice... but doesn't that seem like a s___T_____r____E_____t______C___H!? Hmm! Just curious. Not going to bother making or tempting myself with it.

I sort of do it from memory now, so this is what I use... I make these about once a week and this is how I do it.

8oz unsweetened baking chocolate
1/2 stick butter
1 cup heavy cream
~1 cup sweetener (I use Sweetzfree)
Vanilla or other flavors to taste

Break the chocolate up into a microwave safe dish. Zap it on high for 1m 30sec. While it's microwaving chop up the butter into smaller pieces. When it's done mix in the butter, sweetener (30 drops Sweetzfree if you use that... makes it slightly bitter which is how I like it!), and any other ingredients. I typically use about 1Tbls vanilla, but I've also experimented with things like rum and kaluha if you want to use it. Just enough to flavor. Doesn't have to be totally smooth, the hot cream will help melt any chunks. Do not mix this mxture too much or it will start to get very solid as it cools.

Now take the heavy cream and bring it to a rolling boil. Immediately take it off the heat and dump it into the bowl of other stuff. Mix it all up and stick it in the fridge for 2 hours (possibly more or less depending on how cold your fridge is). You want it to be firm enough to scoop and mold, but not solid. Now, I have a cookie dough scoop which looks like a slightly larger mellon baller, but you can use whatever. Scoop them out onto a cookie tray with wax paper and stick back in the fridge until they firm up completely (another hour or two). Enjoy!

I typically get 20 or so truffles per batch. They are induction-legal, just watch how many you eat. They make a VERY nice treat If you are out off induction some alternatives include the various alcholol flavors, adding nuts to the mixture (makes it very firm, so watch out), rolling the balls in powdered cocoa, etc; You can also go one step further and freeze them. Then you create a really thin chocolate sauce, pull out the frozen truffles, and dip them in for a "shell". Back in the fridge until solid.

Welcome Stacy! make sure you get some veggies...they play an important part to the success of this WOE. BTW..did you know that it is one cup salad veggies...not just one cup lettuce? You may want to mix it up a bit to make it more nutritous.

Britini..Here is what Elizellen said on another post...
"if you are using cocoa in small quantities you can count it as a spice (1-2 teaspoons I would suggest) but for larger amounts then wait till the nuts/seeds rung of OWL."

It also seems to me to use a LOT of artificial sweetners. Sometimes..just because something is legal (and I am not saying this is or isn't) it still doesn't mean it is good for you. If your goal is to find lots of legal desserts to go nuts on you will end up not losing. I guess I would stay away from this only because there is no way I would exhibit self control and stay within my limits for the day and have those in the house. But that is just me.

Elsie, I would never be on the hunt for a ton of sweet treats. Induction gets rid of most cravings for sugar-y items, anyways. I just thought it was kind of funny how they labeled it induction-legal because I would never put that into my body in induction... I agree, way too much sweetener etc. I would never risk stalling myself, etc. just for a little truffle. lol. I was just bored and wanted to post about it, so sorry if I gave you the wrong impression that I don't have self will and determination because trust me I do.

On a lighter note, probably will weigh again tonight. Not expecting much change, but would happy with -1lb. lol. I would love to lose another 3lbs by Saturday which is my move-in date! That'd be 6lbs total. =) So safe to say by the end of the month in that case woahh thatd be like 10lbs! Hopefully if I stay on induction and really watch myself then I could somehow magically lose 15lbs by Sept. 5th. That's my first small goal, lol.
