Hey Everyone!
Bad weather again today, will rain hard for the next 50 hours or so..
but at least it's just rain!
We are doing well! Cooking various veggie's now...Eye's bigger than our stomach's tho! Need to build a root cellar I think! they spoil so fast--trying to cook anything--to have a better storage fight..
Wanted to go day to day when buying veggie's..but when the crop comes in..it's so cheep to buy in bulk..not thinking that our appitites have gone way down and we will not be able to eat all this quickly..
But, it's buy now or wait till next years crop in most cases.

Elsie--Hope you guy's get the time to properly celebrate!,
we are waiting till we get to FL..just too darn busy!!
Hey Dragging friend's counts!! LOL---hope this works on so many levels for you!
We are all Proud of you!!
and the rock is behind me..thinking clown..........................

Caramella--hope you get some "You" time too!!

We are going to go full induction on Sunday I think...back to 2 cups salad veggie's and 1 cup other veggie's--this time around I think we can even practice a little portion control..as our eating habits have changed so much after 100+ days..

good afternoon everyone ....

1. bridal shower was a great success, i cried thru my whole talk but everyone understood what i was saying between sobs... future daughter in law is soo cute, and her mom was there and every lady in our chuch.. even my mother in law came. its was great fun - we did a breakfast/brunch type thing so i had a sausage (only one since i didnt know which brand and it could have had sugar in it) and some scrambled eggs.. didnt eat much as i was nervous about my talk so that was a good thing too since the lady who did the food went a little bit overboard - reminded me of martha stewart.. we had a very nice spread

2. down 3 pounds this morning so i am changing my weigt officially to 275 .. woo hoo 25 lbs total.. since june 15.. not bad - i have had such support and encouragement from friends/family/ and everyone on here... that i was a bit taken aback today when i told one of the ladies at church that i was doing atkins.. and she said oh really ? with such a look on her face like i just told her someone had died - it really was my first negative reaction.. she asked if its healthy and if i checked with a dr. and i told her everything i know about it.. shes of normal weight so its not like i was trying to tell her to do it..but i had to stand up for my WOE and i felt i did a good job.. so that was also a first for me..

Sugar---WTG! You made it thru just fine!
Glad you were able to find "something" to eat!
And YEAH You! nice work so far! Now there's some motivation to carry forward! and I hope you can find a scale you can trust!

OH--see you met your first Atkins misinformed person--Amazing how the Bad and wrong information keeps driving home and not the correct and good info..I ask "why" when someone tells me Atkins is bad...often get the deer in headlights look or on occasion the total wrong answer. Dr A say's Tides Ebb and Flow--and it will come back again and be popular once more..

Funny also---The cereal industry dropped 7.7 billion on an add campain to try to tell people that high fructose corn syrup is good for you!! Single worst thing ever invented by man! DR A hated it with a passion!
A friend calls me and say's the commercial say's it's fine in moderation! I ask how often he feeds it to his three little girls--"well" Ummm
yeah--7 day's a week! 365 days a year..love that moderation.....

You tell them Bill. I guess I never had any clue how much of the stuff was out there before this woe. I didnt even realize how much sugar period was in everything. Both my dh and I were shocked.

I have to say, we have cut back on a lot of things that we normally wouldn't have thought of twice about. Ketchup was my biggest shock. My kids use to eat that like it was a food group. Now I check all the lables and if it is in there we don't buy it.

Sugar--- way to go! I am so happy for you. 25lbs. that is outstanding. I get a lot of feedback every day at work. People think I am just nuts to turn down pizza and doughnuts and such. Oh just do it. But they dont understand i stuggle so much with all of that. I am glad you were able to talk with the lady and explain things to her. Maybe she got a totally different outlook on Atkins after you talked with her.

Elsie- Way to go on the exercise. Did you join the challange this month or is this on your own? I agree with Bill, you should get extra points for dragging someone with you.

Well Howdy Pardners!! LOL!

Thanks Bill. Can't say I love exercise class but I am still going. Even showed up early today and friend and I walked a 1 mile loop before class. I do have to say I feel more tired and more hungry since starting. Of course that didn't stop me from digging out my exercise tapes and putting one in and did another 25 minutes of areobics and 5 minutes of Billy Blanks Tae Bo before saying that is enough. Tomorrow...who knows...may pop in Richard Simmons and dance to some oldies...ROFL!!!

Sugar...weigh to go on the 3 pounds down!!! And for staying on plan at the bridal shower...and for helping to disspell the Atkins myth that it is bad for you!!! You go girl!!! I usually laugh and tell them I have never eaten so many veggies in my life.

Shauna...how's it going? I didn't join the challenge. Just decided that it was time to get moving. I was also shocked at what they put forms of sugar in. So unnecessary!! I need to try my hand at some homemade ketchup as DS puts it on EVERYTHING.

I'm with Bill HFCS is EVIL!!!

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a nice weekend. Work's been really stressful. I so cannot wait for Friday @4pm. Vacation starts! Then we're off to Niagara Falls on Sunday morning!

Diet's been going really well. We've been trying out new recipes, and trying to stick to a decent exercise regime. DH joined the 6-week challenge this go-around with me.

BTW: I beat DH in this week's fantasy football match-up in our league. YAY!

Hey Hey!
Thought I'd share with you how my birthday went...
Arrived home before everyone else...I decided to try a recipe I wanted to create for a while, a Peppercorn Parma (alfredo) Grilled chicken and Broccoli pizza. After I steamed the Califlower I put it in a processor to make it super fine and rolled it out super thin..came out awesome! while it was cooking I grilled the chicken and broccoli and made the sauce. after I put the ingredients on the pizza and poured the sauce on top I put it under the broiler for a few to get that golden brown top..perfect!
put it on the stove to cool and ran to take a shower and change so I could greet my Dad and wait for DW to get home..As I was coming down stairs I could hear giggles...oh no! I forgot tonight my daughter and her sorority sister's hit the mall for shopping and a movie..no no noooooooo!
As I enter the kitchen..one by one I heard....."wow, your an amazing cook Mr B" "I have never had anything like that before!" "What was that crust? it was great!" "Can you whip up another one?"
Every scrap gone..but the smell!..oh well..what you gonna do? "Have fun girls and buckle up! Bye" Alone in the dark now..I open up the fridge.. nothing! wait..there is a container--uncured hot dogs..So I grab a chair
put it in the center of the kitchen and sit with my hot dog..I stick a candle in one end and light it....
Happy Birthday to meeee (sniff)...Happy birthday to me...Happy birthday...Happy birthday (Sniff).... Hap..py...birth...day...tooooooo0000
MEEEEEEEEEEEE...(whoosh) blow out candle............

bill happy birthday.. sorry the sorority ate all your food.. take it as a compliment you made pizza with calliflower crust ?? how does that work ? i think you need to start up a mail order company.. and you can cook and just mail us the food so we can taste it what do you think ?? if nutrasystem can do it ??? hehe

wow elsie... a regular excercise guru ! i got to meet billy blanks at a health and fitness show here in portland a few years back.. he is ripped... and very upbeat and positive.. he did a demonstration of tae bo for people who cant stand or need to sit down.. and it was quite a work out even from a chair !

oh and all the stuff sugar is in .. i mean really ?? they inject sugar into meat ?? its everywhere.. i never really ate ketchup but seriously ?? tomatoes and sugar?? why??
last week when we went to my co workers for dinner they had some special bbq sauce they order from oklahoma,, they gave my dh a bottle... first ingredient is sugar.. you would think maybe tomatoes then sugar.. NO .. sugar first ?? i was about to go into a coma just reading the label

and dont get me started on cereal... my goodness... i got my kids to eat cherios and rice krispies with out sugar.. maybe some rasin bran.. i cant imagine feeding my kids a big bowl of sugar with milk ... especially every morning.. my goodness !

glad you all are back.. i was here saturday and sunday and felt ever so lonely hope everyone is having a good week... we get a new girl next week at work (to replace the one who didnt do her work who they let go almost a month ago) so i get to stop doing 2 jobs.. it would be worth it if they paid me 2 salaries.. but they never seem to think of that
