Default What to eat on a plane....

I'll be flying for many, many hours this coming Wed. night. Now I may not need to eat at all as it's an over night flight. However we do have a couple hours layover in the very early morning. Any suggestions on what I could bring with me that would not need to be kept cold, etc... There very well may be something suitable somewhere in the airport, but if there's not..... So any ideas..

celery sticks, jicama, cheese sticks, sausage sticks (I normally don't advocate processed meat...but it's good on a plane). I always take a bag of chopped up jicama to munch on.

jicama is one of my very favorite vegetables.

The flesh is white, like a potato, but it doesn't have starch. It is crunchy like the potato too, but the flavor is an earthy sweet taste. The sweet is very faint. I love it chopped into matchstick size pieces in a salad, or little pieces just eaten plain. Many will put lime and chili powder on them.

Hi!
depending on the airline you fly, you can ask for low carb meals. (i think some even call it atkins meals) just call them up and ask.

Enjoy your flight!

hahaha. A thread with Joy advocating the jicama was long overdue.

What about jerky? I'm assuming you're still on induction so things like nuts are out?

Okay so I bought some jicama tonight. I'm leaving tomorrow so I know it's not much time but what do I do with this brown ball??

I've started the dairy rung this week so no nuts yet, that would've been ideal. I've looked at jerky but it always has too much sugar. Maybe they have something more natural at Trader Joes or whole foods. I'm going there tomorrow to get my dose of FAGE so I'll look. Anyone know where to get FAGE in Winnipeg, MB?

I can buy FAGE at my grocery, dunno if they'd stock it at yours though.

For the Jicama - you need to peel it, then you can either chop it into the sticks (like in the picture above) or you can make it into a chip substitute thing by slicing into rounds.
