| I don't know. It takes some time to transition. I think for me it was experiencing the success that convinced me that I am on a lifestyle change and not just a diet. The proof was in the pudding so to speak. Personally I love food. All kinds of food. And I have found plenty of great food Atkins that just keeps me happy and satisfied. That has helped as well. I do not feel deprived in any way.

| First of all I just want to say "Way to Go!" for simply being here and telling us about your situation. IMHO, that's one step closer to a lifestyle change because your curiosity shows you have the motivation for change.....you're collecting info, educating yourself. Educating myself was a huge step in this lifestyle change. I used to do these "low-carb" diets off and on in my life time, doing them the way I assumed they were to be done, but I wasn't fully equipped with the accurate knowledge about how and why these "diets" worked. I did know that the low-carb idea did show some results and I finally decided to buy and read the book, DANDR, bought off Amazon for $4 including shipping. I highly highly highly recommend getting the book and reading it. It's so hard to get started the right way when you're stumbling around ideas about what exactly is the "right way". When I put in the effort to really do it right and committed myself to that, buying the right groceries, cooking the right meals, exercising, etc....it was one day at a time. At first I missed things like candy, chips, and soda, but honestly, it was very shortly after that I started feeling this feeling of satiety that I had never experienced before, and I wasn't craving those things, and I was full after eating my meals.....I had already subconsciously made a lifestyle change without even realizing it. I can't imagine eating any other way now. What other method of losing weight allows you to eat until you are truly full? Allows you to be your healthiest? Gives you the energy you need to make it through the day? I think it's quite a decent exchange for a WOL that, after time requires little or no effort to follow. I think you've already got the right frame of mind, give it a few days of effort and you can and will experience a lifestyle of satisfaction. We are all here to help you and guide you, this is definitely the right place to get started |
