| Ahh, there may be 0 carbs but it is sweetened with Aspartame which is a known staller for most. Dr. Atkins specifically told us to avoid Aspartame. If you need a diet drink go with something without caffeine and have it sweetened with splenda. That's if you must. Remember we're only allowed 2-3 packets (2-3 tsp.) of Splenda a day. |

| I needed something to take the edge off last night so I drank half a can of cafine free Diet Pepsi. I jumped on the scale this morning and lost another pound. So far the Atkins diet is working and the results are revealing. I weghed in at 184 four days/nights ago and today I was 174.5. I have nearly eliminated all carbs and have maintained a super low calorie count. And I have been drinking 8 8oz. glasses of water each day. Today I plan on buying Diet Shasta. Thanks for the tip. Everyone has been super helpful! ![]() Jack

| It should be OK to drink ... However ... I have a different philosophy with this stuff ... we drink / eat sugar substitutes because we have a sweet craving. I personally like to avoid all sweet tasting food even if it is "legal" the reason is that I feel that this tempts the body by tricking it to think that it is eating sugar. I feel that it actually brings back the carb cravings. That is my take ... I am sure others will have different opinions on this. I also dont like to injest all of those chemicals. I think water is a much better substitute. I actually really like Aloe Juice. |

| I think Tom is right about it causing cravings for carbs. I personally don't have much of a sweet tooth to begin with but when I do start craving sweets or if the occasion calls for it - such as the rare occasion where everyone else is eating cake, etc. - I will distract and deflect myself into eating something that could satisfy me and not spoil my diet (like sugar free Jello with whipped cream- Of course being carb, sugar, caffeine and apartame free conscious). It's either deflection or distraction or diving head first into the cake and no one wants that! hehe I do make sure to limit even the sweet stuff for very rare or must have occasions because I'm concerned it might slip into an every day or every minute got to have thing. giggles So far it's working for me. Best of luck to all of you and all that you do! Ps. Here's some good info, that worked for me, on why not to consume or to consume as little as possible of aspartame: Aspartame controversy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |
