Default 2 questions from newbie...

Hi, I am on Day 11 on Induction...
1. Am I allowed to have Tofu (no carbs, no sugar) while in Induction?
2. I have about 50 lbs. to lose. Do I stay on extended induction so I can continue to lose weight? When do I start OWL phase?

i would think the tofu is ok if you are sure no sugar no carbs however it may be best to stick strictly to the list until the 15th day...

from reading everything on the board i would think with only 50 to lose you should move up the rungs... there is a lot of learning going on in the rungs that will help you in the long run.. how many carbs your body can handle, what foods you may need to stay away from, etc etc

i personally am going to wait until i am about 30 lbs to goal before going thru the rungs... so that i can stop obsessing over the scale and really learn about my body and how it reacts to different foods

hope this helps

When I started, I had 45 pounds to lose. I started OWL with about 35 pounds left to go. I decided to go to OWL for two reasons. One, there is a bigger variety of food so it's not quite as difficult to find something to eat. I've pretty much only added in more veggies, cottage cheese, and berries but it's amazing how much difference this has made in my satisfaction with this WOE. Instead of eggs, I can have cottage cheese and berries with my breakfast meat. Or, if I don't eat it for breakfast, I can have them as a snack later. It was a small change, but it's helping.

I agree that you should move up the OWL rungs if you have completed a full 2 week clean induction. OWL rung 1 is just more veggies and you can hang out there or in any rung as long as you feel necessary. I personally found that I lost weight consistantly and I have more options with the foods that I'm adding back in.

Sorry to say that tofu is made from soy bean curd (right???) and soy beans are not allowed on Induction because they are a legume and considered for OWL rung 6.

ps...here's the site that tells more about tofu if that will help explain more what I'm trying to say...lol. http://www.annecollins.com/diet_food...rd-soybean.htm

I know you'll do great!
