| At the end of the induction list under artificial sweetners, he says " certain sugar such as malitol do not affect blood sugar and are acceptable". Some persons have tummy issues with them, but you would know already if that were the case. Don't have several pieces a day, but they aren't 'illegal.'

| Thanks. ![]() We're supposed to have six "servings" of xylitol a day, but that can be candy, gum, mouthwash or toothpaste. I guess I'll have two pieces of gum a day, if that, since I will swallow less of the xylitol that way. |

| xylitol seems to cause constipation. |

| I've never had any problems with xylitol. it is less upsetting to the stomach than most sugar alcohols, and it has a lot of health benefits (for humans, but apparently it can be toxic for dogs).
