| Yes. I have. I haven't gotten to the point of forcing myself to eat - but I have pleasantly lost my "burning hunger" Have you tired new things to eat? I know that shaking things up a bit always gets me more "excited" and willing to stay with an eating plan. I also found it SO WEIRD when I put in everything I was eating into dailyplate.com to get my fat/protein/carbs to find out I was eating LESS than when I was a calorie counter. I thought for sure with the cream, real butter, olive oil, meat...etc I was way above my "normal" calories. Come to find out I am very much below my calorie count - by at least 300. But shake things up a little bit - try something new and whatever you do - don't get bored!

| We have a lot of variety in what we cook. For instance, last night we had ground Asian beef wrapped in lettuce with mushrooms. My lunch today is grilled andouille chicken sausage (<1 carb per link and nitrate free) with 1 c. of cauliflower. For dinner, we're making grilled buffalo chicken breasts with a tossed salad and some kind of sauteed veggie on the side. I easily get bored with food. So I like to try different things. It's just really strange that I just can't be bothered to eat when I should. Like right now, I'm about to eat my lunch because I have to. |

| Appetite suppression is a side effect of ketosis/lipolysis. So congrats, you are in ketosis. Dr. Atkins wrote that you shouldn't go more than 6 waking hours without eating. So eat at least something that combines fat, protein and carbs, like a boiled egg or something .

| Appetite suppression makes Atkins easy to do! Make the most of it...but don't forget the six hour rule Megs mentioned. Once you get high up the OWL (ongoing weight loss) ladder you'll find your appetite increases again as you take in more carbs. By that time, you'll have learned what foods affect you adversely. You'll also have much more experience and practice of how you should eat. The experience makes maintenance much easier, when you get there... which you will, before you know it if you follow the plan to a T.

| And do it, the eating at least every six hours, because it NOURISHES your BODY. That is what we are here for, to quit eating like dummies and eat to nourish our cells. The appetite suppression helps put you in control, and then you can say.. hmm.. what would be great for my body right now?

| I force myself to eat by making things that once I smell them, I know I'll want. Like chicken strips fried in garlic and olive oil, beef and broccoli, baked chicken, etc. Sometimes I just do NOT want to eat anything but I make myself because I know I have to. I'd rather this than be constantly hungry and not satisfied, though. Its a tradeoff I'm willing to make |
