| first question, did you use the actual broiler, the part at the very bottom? And did you marinate?

| Just plain steaks....and it broils from above.....I put it on high. When it got done cooking it was just swimming in it's own grease and made me want fruit and low-fat oatmeal.

| If you don't have a proper broiler, you would be better off just pan frying the steaks. A proper broiler is a 2 part tray with slits in the upper part, and a base to catch the grease. And it needs to be very close to the flame or element on very high, like 500 degrees, so that it cooks fairly quickly on each side. Otherwise you are baking the steak.. in its own fat, and as you found out, it isn't that appetizing. If you didn't toss them, you might be able to 'save' the steaks, slice them thin and stir fry with some veggies. You will get past the toughness if they are cut thin..

| Or mince them up and treat it as ground beef in some sort of sauce to keep them moist

| You could always get a small hibachi bbq and try cooking them that way (that is, providing you have a place you can put it, not really feasible if you live in an apartment though.) |

| I don't get it. I love rib eye - particularly the fact that they have all the fat. Makes them super tasty.

This is the link I use LindauerFarms.com - How to Broil Filet Mignon, Porterhouse, Ribeye and New York Strip Sirloin Steaks Sea salt also usualy has potassium I think which seems to be a good thing. Hope this helps. EDIT: Oh and I used a broiler pan vice the ironcast. PG |

| Hi, I use a Nuwave Oven. It is great for apartments because you can put it on your countertop. You can cook right from frozen and the fat drips off (I love fat and end up pouring it over my steak after). You can see what the oven looks like here: Nu Wave Pro Infared Oven W/ Extender Ring (Black)-My Secret Pantry It is super easy to use and clean up is a breeze. Meat comes out moist and tender. It also uses less electricity than an oven and does not heat up our house when you use it. This is by far the best kitchen appliance I have ever owned. Val
