Default Eating late -- does it matter?

Should there be a cut-off point or does it not matter?
I thought about this when I had dinner at 9 p.m. a few night ago.

I wouldn't plan it that way, but I wouldn't go to bed hungry either. I would eat lightly and save leftovers for breakfast or lunch!

I agree...I wouldn't have big dinner...something light. Don't go to bed hungry. Break your meals up to smaller and more often if it is usual for you to have dinner that late or you could have your 'big' meal a lunch instead.

I can eat late with no problems. There are also times I get up in the middle of the night, hungry....and I have a couple slices of deli all-natural turkey or roast beef layered with mayo and cheddar cheese. I zap it for 30 seconds, roll it up and OH MY...it is SO GOOD! Hasn't affected me one way or the other.

I remember this statement when I was reading DANDR:
"Don't let your self starve."
Well I think, if you're really hungry then you should eat, but then again don't just dig in and eat like a a hungry soldier. See to it that you still count the carbs. Also, it would be best to eat in smaller amounts that to have it in one large eating. Remember that we should distribute the carb intake in a day to avoid carb rush. Don't forget to drink plenty of water, this way you could also feel full.

This is a really good discussion point - thanks for posting it.
I have found that if I am eating enough during the day, i.e. not skipping meals, and then having dinner between 5 and 7 pm, and then working out for 1-2 hours, that for the rest of the night I am typically not hungry at all. Especially now drinking 72 oz + of water. Nights when I am hungry I eat something acceptable like cheese or veggies for a snack. If really hungry some heavier protein like chicken wings, tuna or turkey.
