Default HELP! The hurricaine's coming!

What do I get to eat in the event the power goes out?? I got some beef jerky, tuna (ICK) and vienna sausage but I am fresh out of other ideas and don't want to have to re-start induction in the event mother nature takes away my ability to cook and store food properly.

Does anyone have any ideas? Come to think of it....I'm a Girl Scout leader as well and the same ideas would probably work well for weekends at camp.

THANKS!

My hubby would never let me do that...he is the world most paranoid person about eggs and meats. He freaks out when I let the kids lick the spoon from batter. We almost lost his dad a couple of years ago from that and all he did was use a fork that had been in the raw meat in the cooked meat....so now he's even worse!!! Fresh veggies are a good idea though.

If you do not like tuna - how about canned chicken, crab? Pepperoni sticks? Some cheese sticks? Protein powder.
I normally would not recommend them but this may be a time to have a few those Atkins product ready (shakes, bars)

And remember, hardboiled eggs keep quite a while and can make a useful emergency food to have available.
