Help me please!!! Chinese Sauces | | | I am posting here since hoping someone will see it that can help me. I am dating a man of chinese heritage and we've run into a problem. ALL of the spices and sauces he cooks with are full of sugar. Even the dried up shrimps are coated in the stuff. So far I have been rationing when he cooks and compensating at other meals. But I would like to learn to cook the foods he likes anyway. Now, most of the cooking sauces have between 3-7 carbs per TBSP. I know that sugar was not always a part of these sauces though. Does anyone know of any companies that sell traditional chinese sauces without sugar, using cane or agave or at least have less sugar than the typical Dynasty Brand (I'm desperate and will take what I can get). I'm talking about things like Hoisin, powdered shrimp, Black bean sauce, Oyster sauce and fish sauce (I.e. everyday chinese staples) | |
