Exclamation Splenda shocker!

Okay, I know opinions are like noses, everyone has one, but....

I just got through watching this video on youtube (YouTube - Exposing Splenda: Insecticides are Good For You? ). I was totally shocked that Dr. A would recommend such a thing as splenda, albeit in small amounts, but still. I think this man in the video is very intelligent and there are multiple other videos on youtube stating the same kind of information.

I will definitely be looking for some Stevia. I hope GNC carries it because in this little town there are no healthfood stores available.

I can't believe I spent so much on replacing all my aspartame with splenda!

I am all for being aware of what you are eating and sweeteners can be tricky.
I am a little bit non impressed about all this anti hype about Splenda though. Sounds a bit like scare tactics.
But some people react negatively to splenda and it is something to be aware of.
Here is another opinion on Splenda by another low carb guru (Dr Eades of Protein Power)

Health & Nutrition by Michael R. Eades, M.D. » Splenda misinformation

I've pretty much stopped using Splenda myself, not because there are bad things being said about it but because there are so many good things about stevia that it makes no sense for me to even want to use something that is chemically manufactured. However, when I do have to make a choice, I will pick Splenda over aspartame any day as I have outweighed the pro's and con's, and there are far worst factors regarding aspartame than sucralose. In my home we try our best to use natural and organic foods and stevia fits just fine into that equation. It only tastes "bad" if you use too much. But if you're trying to make an honest lifestyle change, you don't need too much of it anyway as you are trying to deter your body from gravitating towards those sweet cravings. Just a splash here and there will do the trick.

Have you seen the new commercials promoting HFCS? Something like a mom telling another mom that she shouldn't give the kids the juice because it contains it..and the mom was like, "so, it also has vitamins and yada yada yada" and then it says "get the facts" paid for by the corn industry (of some sort) I had to chuckle to myself. I guess a lot of people are getting the facts and not choosing things that contain it anymore!

Desert,
I will definitely use Splenda when out and have the choice between that or aspartame. I do want to find the Stevia, however. I plan on using just the slightest amount as I have seen in the video mentioned and mercola.com recipes.
