| in a word, i would say 'yes'. your homones are not the same as they were pre baby either 2 years ago or recently. it's a constantly changing thing with women. it doesn't mean we won't be able to lose but in most cases, yes, it's going to mean you have to be more diligent about it. and the older you get, the harder it will be so take it off now and you'll be ahead of the game when you are my age.

| Don't despair! I have carried around my baby weight far to long... Can it still be called baby weight when your baby is 7???? Keep it up and it will happen! That is what I am telling myself everyday! Good Luck! |

| I think so yes, I am experiencing the same thing as you are. Before my beautiful babies, I lost 60 lbs on atkins. I am trying again and finding that it wasn't as easy as it was the first time. Maybe also because I weigh less now than I did pre-babies. Immediatly after my second baby, I also tried WW, but I felt like my body was just not ready to lose anything. I think it was a hormonal thing. Now my baby is 8 months and my body seems to be more receptive to what I'm trying to get it to do. I just think it takes a lot more effort in terms of excercise. Plus the fact that children are a lot of work (constantly doing something, chasing them, changing them, feeding and bathing) that sometime I would fee drained of energy. Also, having two in diapers like I do, is stressful at times which used to trigger eating convenient/comfort foods, or anything at hand for that matter. Thanks to the appetite suppression that comes with induction, I have been able to keep these bad habits at bay. Just keep working at it and enjoy your baby- Good Luck! Abbey |

| Also, if you are strength training, you might be exchanging fat for muscle which weighs more. Are you taking your measurements? Sometimes you lose inches when you're not losing pounds. Just don't give up because you will get nowhere at all if you do. We are cheering for you! |

| I'm wondering if it's harder because it's the second time on Atkins. I read a few places that it is harder to lose the second time because your body is more tolerant...I'm not sure. I miscarried at 14 weeks, so I wasn't 9 mo pregnant and I'm losing the weight faster than my first time on Atkins, however I never has this much to lose, so I'm not sure if it's harder after a baby........
