| Your raw chickens are cheaper than rotisserie? Your lucky. I can get a rotisserie chicken for $6 but it costs about $8 for a raw one. Next time i get one on sale I will try it in the crockpot. I bake mine and they turn out really juicey all the time. I put seasoned butter under the skin (softened butter mixed with whatever i am seasoning the outside with) and i baste with butter too. My fav seasoning is achote(hispanic foods isle of store), salt, pepper and garlic. I used to make them with chipotle but the adobo has sugar in it so i had to give it up.

| For my BBQ ribs I took the ribs and stuck in my crockpot. I then took the Heinz low carb ketsup and added an equal amount of water to that I added 2 Tbls of mustard and 2 packets of splenda. mixed it all up and poured it over the ribs. Let cook all day and I thought they were pretty yummy. I also used this on chicken. I like a sweet taste sometimes and if I want spicey I just don't use the splenda or the ketsup and I add a wing sauce (some are carb free). I liked it.

| Love my crockpot! Things are so tender and juicy when cooked in a slow cooker. I must use it at least 4-5 times a week.... why would I want to cook on top of the stove or turn on an oven? It's the greatest!

| Glad you were able to serve some tasty chickens! Full price hens around here run around $4. I buy them when they are on sale, I don't know what I would have to do if I had to spend $8 a chicken. But hey.. watching this economy, who knows?
