Default Better than rotisserie chicken

I make this all the time.

Place one chicken hen in the crock pot. Sprinkle an herb mixture you like, like lemon pepper or italian seasoning all over the chicken. Turn it on med heat, (or low if your cooker is like mine and cooks really hot) and check it after a few hours. No water, no nothing.

It is moister than what you pick up at the store, and no injected hidden sugars. I know this isn't a food forum, but I didn't want to re-confuse the 'hungry' thread!

Ooooooh! Great idea. I love using my crockpot. Drop food in and walk away.

This is generally about 2 bucks cheaper than the store -cooked ones too, I am very frugal!

I found that part of it does, and what doesn't, I pull off and stick in the oven on a sheet pan! Not missing out on the crispy skin!

I love my crockpot, too.... and I love chicken cooked in it.... I'm starting over and have not idea what my siggy looks like...I'll check it when I send this message. I'm anxious to get back into Atkins and have all the great support I had in the past.... Later!!!

I think the crockpot/slow cooker must be my most-used kitchen gadget since I started Atkineering.
In fact I have just browned some pork chops and put them in my large one with some mushrooms, chives and herbs so we will arrive home tonight to a deliciously smelling kitchen and quickly served meal, as well as some great leftovers for future meals.

BTW I have 3 slowcookers of varying sizes and sometimes have all three on the go!!

I usually leave mine on the 'hot' setting all day (I add extra liquid so it doesnt boil dry) as my husband's false teeth can't cope with chewing, and the meat is always soo tender it almost melts in the mouth.

Elizellen you sound like the perfect person to ask: A few months ago a fried made some BBQ ribs in the crock pot and the meat literally fell from the bone. She said she just used water, garlic powder and a couple bottles of store bought BBQ sauce loaded with sugar. Do you know of any lower carb ways to pull something like that off?
