| Hi Kathi! I am the same - in fact my best friend thinks its funny - "welcome to my world" she says.. I am always hot - I don't even own a winter coat because I never get cold, even if we have a frost. I just usually wear a rain mack and scarf - but since I have been Atkins participating - I have the heating on (very rare for me), jumper on - I even had to put a throw on my bed! I went to Below Zero for my birthday last year - its in Regent Street, London and everything is made of ice - you have to wear a therma cape, gloves and hat and the staff have to change positions every 20 minutes because its so cold - yup, I get there and have to take the cape off because I was so hot!!! Here I am wearing a cardigan in the office - unheard of! I have thought about it and though it must be the lack of sugar?!?! But not sure. I am quite enjoying not being the sweaty betty though... Might be the water - I have never drunk water like I am. I would be very interested to know why this is!!! Good luck! Janie xo |

| I think it's the water. At least it is for me. I really notice that when I drink a few glasses of cold water I start to feel cold after a few minutes... and stay cold for quite a while...by which time, I'd drink more cold water... and the cycle would repeat. On the plus side, remember it takes energy (more than you'd think) to heat that water up to body temperature, which translates into greater weight loss. Every time I wanted to speed up my losses, water (the colder the better) did the trick. Feeling cold isn't too nice, but you can always cover up. All in all, I'll take slim and chilly over fat and warm!

| I have no medical/scientific proof (which means I'm probably wrong!), but I too have assumed it has to do with low blood sugar. I was always warm -- okay, hot -- pre-Atkins and always had plenty of sugar coursing through my veins, but now I tend to get cold rather easily. Usually my extremities (especially my fingers) feel the iciness first. Maybe I'm crazy, but the cold feeling usually goes away after I eat something. Considering I don't feel hungry like I used to, I have learned to use the coldness as my indicator that I've gone too long without eating!

| Maybe its the combination of both - the low sugar and the water. I thought the sugar because I no longer sweat and in my mind that is because I was sugar loaded!!! |

| those all make alot of sense. i do know that, for me, pre-atkins, i would get real cold and was told that i needed to get moving, (blood circulation). yes, i am still always cold though but if i get moving, whether it be around the house doing things or exercising, i warm up a bit. but the water thing really makes a lot of sense.
