    Default Flax Meal and Mayo

Okay, so I looked for some flax seed tonight at the store. But all I could find was flax meal...same thing, just already ground. Now I am in extended induction, so how much of this am I allowed per day? I'm way excited.

Also I bought some mayo. I honestly hate the stuff. I'm a miracle whip girl myself, but the good stuff isn't allowed. Now I looked at the lable of every mayo jar there was....ALL of them had sugar in them! ALLLLLLL of them. WTHeck?!?!?!

I've now been on Atkins for one month and one day....NO sweets at all, however I did buy some Pepsi One tonight, it's made with Splenda..... I'm still debating on if I'm going to have a tast or not....hmmmm.

    Hope ya'll are well.

    Hugs

Flax meal and peanut butter are both acceptable on the nuts rung. If you just got off induction, you should be adding more veggies first.

One TBsp of flax meal (or psyllium husks, read page 76) in induction is recommended to prevent constipation. The way I read the Dr., on page 124 it states that if you are constipated, use a TBSP or more, read the rule 12. It says 'tbsp or more' specifically for psyllium, but then mentions flax also, and I feel sure the 'or more' also applies. After all, 1 TBSP is the preventative dose, it would only make sense for 1 or more to be the therapeutic dose. So if you are constipated, you may have more than 1 TBSP and still be quite legal. Don't overdo, too much fiber can backfire. I don't go over 3 and have been quite comfortable.

Frankly, I live with the tiny bit of sugar in my Kraft mayo. I ingest it in practically nothing else.

But no peanut butter till nuts rung.

I was never a mayo girl either. We lived off miracle whip growing up. I kinda make my own version using mayo, sweetener and a little vinegar. No specific amounts. I just do it to taste and it gives it a "twang" lol kinda like Miracle Whip had.

Right on! I'll have to give that a shot. The mayo has been sitting in the fridge for a couple of days now, still unopened, lol. I'm trying to find the guts. Thank you so much for the tip.

I will head to Wal-Mart and look there. I looked at all the lables at the store I shop at and all of them had sugar.... Thank you for the tip.

Flax meal is good--need to GOUND seeds first before eating for benifit if you got the whole seeds...I think I read to keep in cold dark placed? So I keep mine in the frig....does "expire" so keep an eye on that....I mix it in a lot of things and DH does not even know...or DD. Mulit-benifits not just for me
