| We had a member who used to say, "being in ketosis is like being pregnant: you are or you aren't." So if the stix turn a color, you're in ketosis. Likewise, if you have the physical signs of ketosis, you are in ketosis. The stix turn a different shade during the day because you might not be metabolizing as much fat from hour to hour. Or it could mean you are slightly dehydrated. Or it could mean the stix have gone past their expiration date. The bottomline is that if you are using the stix, as long as it turns a color, it's okay. And if they don't turn color at all, but you have the physical signs of ketosis, then you're okay too.

| My stix sometimes do that first thing in the morning. So I stopped peeing on them until after I had eaten breakfast. They're much happier with me at that point. It doesn't mean I'm not burning through fat.. the scale obviously agrees that I am in ketosis. Apparently they just like me to eat within 8-10 hours of using them.

| Okay....thanks for the replies. I am definitely in ketosis...the for sure sign right now is my breath. It's terrible at the moment. In fact, I just tested a few minutes ago and the stick was a pretty purple. So, I think I am fine. I won't put too much worry into this. Thanks again. I'll make sure I am drinking plenty of water. |

| Any time I have extended "fasting period" (which is usually sleep), I have zero color change. I started checking only in mid afternoon or evenings and it shows me at dark pink. I also check a couple of hours after a "questionable" meal. THe Ketostix have been a valuable tool in deciding what works for me. Good luck and Happy THanksgiving!
