| You CANNOT gain 5 lbs of fat in 3 days. I mean, you can, but you'd have to eat like an elephant. :P It's probably water weight. Did you eat something salty? Or maybe you exercised more (w/ weights)? I went through such a gain a few days ago after switching from weight machines to free weights (more intense workout). Your food looks fine. Drink more water and you'll flush out the water weight. For me it usually takes 2-3 days to get rid of it.

Imagine that you're doing great, losing weight, feeling better than ever, thrilled with yourself, hearing compliments from friends and acquaintances---and then it happens! Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!" | Do you know how many carbs there was in the salad? I don't know what was in your salad but here is page on the net that estimate nutrition in it and lists carbs as 120 Calories in Applebee's Oriental Chicken Salad and Nutrition Facts and Related Foods for Diet - strwbrry2103's own diet If the salad had a lot of carbs you are retaining water to help deal with the carbs that happens usually when a low carber eat a high carb meal. It will all work itself out when you get back into the groove

| Thanks for the responses. I was sitting here sulking when I thought.. something had to be up. Even if I had an "uh-oh" which I guess that salad was an uh-oh (though I really didnt see how.. As I requested no noodles..) I didn't think I could gain so much weight! So I'm standing at my scale again and I am looking down at it (without standing on it) and I see the analog dial is about 4pounds over 0. (WHAT??!) I fixed the dial back to zero and stepped on it. I was 191-ish. *whew* I think I do have some water weight from whatever I ate yesterday. May have been a mixture of the salad and the veggie chips. Going to drink a ton of water and pray for a few pounds to disappear this week! |

| gosh i hate it when the scales play up like that. i want to get a digital one so i dont have that problem again. Do you weight yourself daily? cos they say our weight fluctuates several times during the day and that we should only weight ourselves once a week (but i have no self control when it comes to my scales either, i jump up and down on them whenever i feel like it lol) hope your next weigh in shows a good loss

| I think if you drink a lot of water and keep to the diet as planned, that extra lb should be off in no time! I also weigh every morning, with just my undies on (since I usually have some type of sweats on). If it gets you too discouraged, maybe try weighing once a week, or every few days. Are you on OWL rung 1 or extended induction? |
