| Don't fell guilty!!!!! You did what you had to do to feel better. And I'm sure you didn't OD on chicken noodle soup as you weren't feeling well to begin with. Start back with some light broth and add bits of chicken/turkey as you can tolerate it. Another good tip is to whip some eggs into hot broth- gives you the hotmess of the soup with the egg protien you need to get some energy back. The best tip I have is to take turkey legs/thighs and bake them in a pan with lots of water, a few spices and cover with a lid. strain the broth when done cooking and use for your soup. Cut up the turkey and eat as you like it. I hope you are feeling better! |

| This is a thread about this very topic. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...alescense.html (Menu Ideas during Illness and Convalescense) The chicken noodle soup you ate could have been Atkins Friendly---if you skipped the noodles. Keeping cans of chicken broth in your pantry is helpful for times like this. Also, unless you have diarrhea that old wive's tale of eating bananas, rice, apples/apple sauce, tea/toast won't help because those foods are said to be constipating. Neither will the old wives tale of eating "bland" foods like oatmeal, mashed potatoes, noodles, etc. That diet is thought to soothe stomach ulcers.

| What I did was make my own chicken soup with chicken stock, chicken, onion, cauliflower, celery and seasoning. After I have cooked all ingredients I cool and refridge over night then place into Freezer plastic bags. THis is the best when you need a hot soup in a fix. Its the next best thing to grabbing a can from the cupboard. should I get sick I am covered. As for medicine I take Tylenol cold daytime and nightime formula. Its a pill but it really soothes my throat and cough. |

| There has been a bug going around. I've had my head in the ole' flusher most of the week end too. I don't think the atkins flu has ever made me throw up. I had body aches and a headache all weekend ,taking tylenol set me over the edge so to speak. Hope your feeling better.

| Don't feel bad - I just dealt with this during the weekend. I too had some chicken noodle soup, and nibbled on saltines. I'm right back into induction now, so don't beat yourself up over eating what you can keep down when you're sick. I couldn't face eggs or salads or anything like that. Hope you feel better soon! |

| Just a suggestion for anyone craving crackers (which I assume saltines are) with their lowcarb soups. Why not make flax crackers?
