| A good rule of thumb is that losing between 5% and 10% of the total amount of weight we need to lose in the first 14 days on induction is 'normal' So for someone with 105 pounds to lose anything between 5 1/4 and 10 1/2 pounds would be 'normal'. So you have done extremely well to lose about 12%!!

| I'm pretty sure that DANDR says that an 8-14 lb loss is common on induction - so you are right in line! Now, I'm just pulling those numbers from memory, I don't have the book in front of me to be sure... 12.5 lbs is a major achievement! you should be proud of yourself... keep up the good work!

| Congrats! You had a very successful Induction. The weight people lose on Induction varies widely. I myself only lost 3 pounds during Induction, but in my 3rd week I lost another 7. So go figure. Just be mindful now that your weight loss will slow. You will not see those dramatic results on a week to week basis. And thats a GOOD THING! Because that just wouldn't be healthy. But stick with it and you will consistently lose. Great start! |

| I lost only 8 pounds the first two weeks. Do not get too hung up on the first two weeks. I have seen plenty of people that lose twenty then "stall" a bit. Put together short and long term goals and stick to it. As far as drinking on New Years.... If you plan on staying at induction, I say be the Designated Driver for the night. If you are moving up a rung, workout like a mad person that day and the next and drink Rum and Diet Coke with Splenda's, Vodka& Soda, martini's, or straight up booze. NO BEER NO MIXERS! Believe me it will not take much to make you tipsy coming out of induction. Have a few but do not be surprised if you bloat a bit for a couple of days. Good luck, be careful and Merry Christmas!

| As far as New Years goes, stay home and be safe and pick another night to celebrate. That way you can stay true to Atkins and not risk a bad outcome. New Year's Eve is a bad night to celebrate. Not unless of course you party at a private house and stay off the roads all night. And just think of how much better you will feel in the morning. |

| The problem with drinking is not so much the booze itself but that it makes you do stupid things....like pick up losers or wolf down a pizza! |
