I would like to be at goal by the time we attend a friend's wedding in July in Tuscany. I have to picture how nice it will be to go shopping for an outfit and truly feel good about what I am wearing. I went to a lovely wedding in Rome in October and was totally obsessed about how fat I was and how nothing looked nice on me - what a waste eh?!

So my route to goal:
Progress through OWL and not feel tempted to stick on lower rungs
Exercise at least three times a week
Read more - and not just low carb books! I used to read for 30 mins every night and loved it.
Be grateful for what I have NOW and not wish my life away.

I wrote this in my journal earlier this evening:
I'm so glad the holidays are over & done with. Time to get my a$$ in gear. Time to start getting serious about this WOL & make a true commitment. Time to get serious about an exercise program & stick to it~~~this is the key to weight loss. The other thing I really want to work on is picking my battles & just letting things go. There are just some things in life that I can't change~~it is what it is. I need to stop stressing out about things as I can't change them. All I end up doing is making myself nuts~~~just let it go is my new mantra.

I am also going to set some mini goals with rewards & put them in my siggy.

To make it to my goal! I am so far deep in living atkins style that there is no turning back now. So.....I WILL ACHIEVE MY GOAL BY JULY 26TH. My b-day turning the big 3-0. Thats's my only resolution since I am doing everything I should be doing and I am not going to stop. Sound crazy? NOOOOO. I will be me, only happier and healthier.

My resolutions are to keep up exercising four times a week and to reach goal by 2010. That is 30 pounds to lose and I'm hoping I'll easily be able to do that in 2009. It is good how one of my goals helps me achieve the other! My resolution is also to keep on the board and keep on the plan without going off for weeks or even months at a time like I did this year. I want to stick with it!

as one who typically does not make resolutions... I am now making a resolution to make resolutions in my life. I intend on challenging myself by practical and some not so practical goal setting... you know... like dangling the so called carrot in front of the rabbit. I have lived safe for years and well... if I have learned one thing over the last year its that stepping out of the comfort zone I set for my self as an obese woman has allowed me to drop alot of weight... physically speaking, mentally speaking, emotionally speaking AND spiritually speaking.

I resolve to eliminate the rest of the negative self speak and negative influences in my every day life. I will remove certian non productive friends from my facebook, I will, finally close the chapter on a few relaionships with friends who are not friends. I will work on my inner dialogue that says I am fat and disgusting....

I have on my wall above my desk this mantra....

I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious and happy.
Absolute fact.

I will read this and claim it every single day this year.

I would love to hear what some others here use as a personal Mantra!

Good luck to you all!

I am making a goal this year to live in the moment each day and focus on making "healthy" a way of life, rather than a program to get to my goal.

In an effort to KISS (Keep It Simple, Silly), my focus in 2009 is to reach my goal (so near and yet ... so far ) and maintain it through healthy eating habits and regular exercise (for me, walking five to six days a week, either outdoors or on a treadmill at the gym). I also resolve to live in the moment ... the past is done, and the future is uncertain ... we only have the now. Might as well enjoy it! Happy New Year, everyone!

I have been thinking about it. Want to make resolutions that I can keep and yet would make a difference.
*I will eat more vegetables. It is too tempting to get carbs from all over the place but I know that vegetables have to be the key to what I eat
* I will drink my water. I still go for decaf a lot and it interferes with my water drinking
* I will continue to try to reduce mindless snacking (even if that means watching less food network shows)
* I will not listen to my own silly excuses. I know I can talk myself out of anything (like exercise) but I will continue to sign up for challenges here so that I stick with it.

I have 59 pounds to lose, which seems impossible.

My new years resolution is to lose two pounds. Then to lose another two pounds, etc. and so on, until the amount reaches 59 pounds. I am not going to give up this time, and I think losing two pounds is a do-able thing! I am setting my mini goals at five pounds and am not setting a date to reach them, but will be very grateful when I do.

I also resolve to get back on my Gazelle at least 3 times a week!!
