| Personally I don't know if I would be eating all the atkins convience foods. Maybe u could just try eating whole natural foods. And a pound is nothing to complain about it has only been three days! My hardest problem is not weighing everyday too! I am going to try my best to weigh once a week. For breakfast I have two eggs with some bacon or I take two thick tomato slices and put mustard and pepper on them and put bacon between them I make a bacon and tomato sandwich just without the bread! And like for lunch today I had some fajitas with sourcream just no tortillas and for supper a taco salad with picante sauce. I had some cheese and a few olives to snack on. I have restarted the induction phase and have lost five pounds in six days!! So lets try to weigh only once a week. My weigh in day is Saturday. If you r on the run, I like to go to sonic and get a ham egg and cheese toaster no bread! |

| Kenny, have you read the book? You're to follow induction to the T to have success, and that wouldn't include #'s 1, 2, or 4 in your menu above. Please go back and read the book and follow Dr. A's instructions, you'll find menu's there also. |

| Stay away from all of those "atkins" product. They have tons of hidden carbs and sugar alcohols. You should be eating veggies, not bars. Even if you do not buy the book for now, go to the FAQ forum and surf around. every question you could have right now is answered there. Good luck and Happy NEw Year!

| I agree with the above, I avoid those bars and shakes totally. I hate eating chemicals. All the sugar alcohols in them kill my guts, and I just don't react well to them. This plan was really designed to get us to eat whole foods like what our ancestors ate, and these Frankenfoods just don't measure up. I have seen too many people fail here and blame this WOE when all they did was eat these packaged foods.

| Hi Kenny, You say you are 175 at 5'10?? I am going to presume somethings here so if i am wrong just tell me. First of all, based on your name, I am presuming you are a male. I am also 5'10 but female and i can tell you while 175 may seem like a lot, most people i know who are 5'10 tend to have a hard time getting below 165 and maintaining this and you say you want to lose 30 lbs which would put you at 145, which i believe is at the very low end of what they recommend for weight at 5'10 as a small frame. I am not trying to discourage you from the 30 lbs. but you may really want to evaluate whether its the numbers you will be able to maintain and not spend your life attempting to maintain a very low end of the scale weight for your height and body. Even if your 30 lbs remains as to what you wish to lose, Induction (14 days) from what i remember people usually lost 10-15% of what they are trying to lose. So in all actuality 1 lbs in day 3 is pretty good based upon the understanding of induction loss predictions you may lose 3-5 lbs over the 14 days of induction. All in all, i am not sure why you are trying to get down on the scale to 145 lbs at 5'10 male, but you may benefit more in looking into losing some weight since that is what you want to do but to start concentrating on weight lifting and gaining muscle versus worrying about what the number on the scale is as well as replacing fat in your body with muscle -- i.e. body fat %. Your muscle mass will weigh more, but your inches and shape and body fat % will give you the "look" of being 145 without having to struggle with trying to maintain numbers on a scale. Hope this makes sense. i was 5'10 and 165 when i was in my 20's and my body would never allow me to go below 165 and fluctuated between 165 and 170-175. However, i wore a size 8 and sometimes a 6 because my body fat percent was 21 and i was a a very toned muscle even though the numbers on the scale weren't reflecting that. Just some information that may help. As for the processed foods i.e., low carb processed foods, i would begin this way of eating as you mean to go on and that would mean now is the time to make it unprocessed foods and get in the habit of reaching for unprocessed versus easy processed convenience, which in time may not teach you what induction in the book is trying to prepare you for - back to the basics concept. cani

| I think that was probably a typo. Mickkey probably meant 1,3,4. Those are the Frankenfoods

| I'm 5'11 and 175. If you're built like me, some more weight can go. I suggest you use 1 atkins product a day if you must, 0 if you can do that would be best. On your one day of eating I didn't see any vegetables. People tend to confuse Atkins with NO carb instead of LOW carb. Throw in a salad with dressing. Maybe some broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, or something else throughout the day also. Also FYI I have been on Atkins since July. I started at 225 and I have been at 175 for over a month now. Since you have so little to lose, its more of a gradual process. Good luck

| Quote:
Atkins Nutritionals is in the business of pushing low carb Frankenfoods, not having you lose weight the healthy way and make it a total lifestyle change. You should only eat foods that you can and will eat for the rest of your life. A healthy breakfast could be some scrambled eggs with some onion, peppers and/or mushrooms mixed in. Or an omelet with veggies and cheese. Yum! The ham and cheese roll-ups are okay, but you need to add a salad with full-fat dressing to that. Processed meats are not best, but okay once in a while. The wings are good, but you need veggies with that. Keep your fat high, protein moderate, carbs from veggies and Frankenfoods zero, and you will do well. Sunny!
