| Within three to five days, IF and only IF you are following the rules exactly. That means having no sugar, including hidden sugars, eating high fat instead of high protein, limiting artificial sweeteners to three servings per day from all sources, eliminating caffeine and so on. It also depends on how many carbs you were eating before you started induction. It takes a while for your body to process and use up all the stored glucose and start burning fat for fuel instead. You can help burn up glucose stores with exercise. Also, if your only method for testing is the ketostix, a lot of the time they lie. I lost 50 pounds in three months and never turned the evil stix more than a trace once in a while. Most of the time it showed negative, so I stopped using them. There are so many false positives and false nagatives. A better test is reduced appetite and cravings, ketosis breath, increased thirst and so on. Suffering from induction "flu" is a good confirmed positive result. Sunny!
