| My wife tried Jenny Craig and failed miserably. There is nooooo way an average person could eat like that forever. I did my research before I jumped in feet first. I knew I had to choose something that would be a lifestyle change, not a "diet that I would try". I like atkins because there is a lifelong plan that puts all of the choices in your hand ultimately. Just my 2 cents. GOod luck and HAppy NEw Year!

| I've tried alot of them. Weight Watchers, LA Weightloss, Nutrisystem, etc. And spend a lot of wasted money doing it. Oh, sure I lost a little weight on each of them but it was never permanent. With Weight Watchers and LA Weightloss I couldn't stand being hungry all the time. I would get done eating and be hungry an hour later! With Nutrisystem I got sick of prepackaged food and wanted some real home cooking. I definitely think I have found what I was looking for. |

| I have tried reducing calories and eating less. The only thing that happens when I try that is that I become so focussed on food that I eat more. It is ridiculous. I knew when I seriously decided to look into losing weight that I had to look at low carb.

| I'm not sharing to promote them, but just to say that I've attempted these ways with nothing that supported me making life style changes.... Weight Watchers....spent waaaay too much money on their junk food and drove myself (and my family) nuts counting points and I was hungry all the time...did nothing for my metabolism either. Cabbage Diet (aka: Mayo Clinic Diet).....starvation is a word for this one, along with gas Grapefruit Diet....seriously didn't have to worry about scurvy for sure....but it wasn't filling No white food during the week, but eat whatever on the weekend....good for those who start their diets on Monday with the same or more weight than they started with the week before Slim Fast....starvation is a word, again, for this one Atkins is the only one that I've had success with losing weight and making life style changes. Even though there's struggles along the way (like I'm going through right now), it's a reasonable life style change that makes sense.

| I did Jenny Craig three different times, all of which I DID lose weight, but failed miserably because I stopped going to my appointments, hating the food, and just going back to my old eating habits. With Atkins I don't have to worry about portions so much, which is mainly what Jenny Craig is. I can easily go out to eat and order a salad and a steak or chicken. Of course I tried low calorie, too... but each time only lasted about 12 hours... ;-) |

| the grapefruit diet, the cayenne pepper/lemon/maple syrup diet, the starvation diet, the count-my-calories diet, cabbage soup diet, this weight-loss shake that was advertised one of those magazine ads, the all-egg diet. |

| Here are all the "diets" I have tried: Cabbage Soup- Took off about 7lbs but gained it all back. I was miserable and gassy the whole time. Master Cleanse- Took off 9lbs in the first 5 days and then quit. I couldnt starve myself any longer. Not too mention that I only kept it off for about three months. Jenny Craig- EXPENSIVE LESSON. I took off about two pounds per week, but I was going broke the entire time, and if I ate if three buffalo wings, I would lose a whole week of progress. Its insane. I finally quit because I realized that even if I lost all of the weight, I would have done it relying solely on THEIR food, so where would that leave me for maintenance? I wasnt taught how to eat. I was just fed. Weight Watchers: It was good but I got tired of the frozen foods and I got tired of adding points and it just got boring honestly. B12 shots and a diet plan: I lost 40lbs in four months. I kept it off for about nine months but then I got pregnant. So far this is the most effective diet I ever did, because I learned how to eat and I exercised a lot. I think I learned that there is no magic cure for being fat, but hard work and mental dedication. ATKINS- Ahhhhh... I like this diet. I think that training your body to burn fat efficiently is a great thing. I dont think its any easier than any other diet, you have guidelines and commitment but it can be done. I think the great thing about it is that you get to eat a ton of great foods without the guilt or consequences. I am on day 8 now and have only lost about two pounds but I only got into ketosis two days ago. I believe its healthy to shed about two pounds per week so I am okay with my progress. I just keep trucking. The hardest thing about this diet is staying away from cakes, because I cant forget how much I love them, however, bison steak and asparagus isnt too shabby either. I think this will work for me, because the limitations are...well limited. :O) |

| Weightwatchers: lost 30 pounds, gained back some, then lost 16. i always ate more than my points and managed to keep losing. eventually i hit a stall but i just can't eat any less cuz i get so cold and i don't think its good for me. so i'm switching to atkins. i did like weightwatchers because they were so supportive and friendly though. Lowfat: tried a super lowfat diet and lost... absolutely nothing! i think this type of high carb diet isn't good for me.
