Default Hidden Carbs are the bane of my existence!

Ok, so I'm going along, using Fitday, tracking my carbs and losing weight thinking that everything was great. Au Contraire, my friend! I was reading a post about Fitday (Why do I need to use FitDay? in the Atkins Low Carb Diet - FAQ's) and how even decaf tea has carbs. I have been drinking hot decaf teas assuming they had no carbs. Just goes to show you can't assume anything with this WOE.

On another note, I was glad to find out you can change your settings on Fitday to reflect dietary fiber. I have read some people state you had to keep track of your dietary fiber manually with Fitday. Just click on Set a Nutrition Goal on the left hand side of the page and then choose dietary fiber, it gives you your total dietary fiber for the day down at the bottom of the page. Just subtract and voila! You have your net carbs.

All in all, this WOE is definitely a learning process, I think it will take me awhile before I figure it all out, but at least I'm still a loser.

I have been doing atkins for 4 months now, but I have only been using fit day for about a month now. Believe it or not this month I will have my biggest weight loss month. I figured out that I was eating WAY too little. Since I upped the calories (and fat) I have more energy for the gym, and the weight is falling off. Fitday is awesome!! Good luck and Happy NEw Year!

I like fitday too. I have found that if I do not record my foodintake somehow I slide. So it keeps me honest. And it is nice to use it to check trends.

anybody know if its safe to use the multivitamin "berocca"?...been using it but like you say it may have hidden carbs in it?...it is sugar free though

Maybe Ill give fitday another try... always found it hard to truly calculate what I ate. Usually did the old fashioned way with a paper and pen!

When I started using Fitday, I bought a digital food scale. I weigh EVERYTHING. It is not as tedious as it sounds. I t has helped me stay more true to the ratio. Good luck and Happy NEw Year!
