| I noticed your post had got missed in between the others in the thread you added it to, so have made it into its own thread to get noticed better! I initially had not got a clue as to what my goal weight should be so just picked a number which was half of my initial weight. when I got close to that I realised I still had over 20 pounds that I needed to lose by the bulges and flob I still have around mainly my middle area, so set a new goal weight. Many other members are more scientific about it and go by the 'ideal weight' charts that are around or by asking their doctor's advice. However many people who have followed Atkins and lost weight while also exercising find their weight is heavier than their shape implies - they are smaller in clothes size than they were at the same weight previously, so they set a clothes size goal instead.

| I picked one that was inside the healthy BMI and the last time I knew I felt good about myself. I also thought given my age it was not too unrealistic for me to get there. Like Elizellen says now that I am close to that weight I am actually a lot smaller than I was before. I wear clothes about 4 sizes smaller than last time. Exercise is pretty cool.
